Help Finding Replacement AC/DC Adapter

This AC/DC adapter arrived with a broken pin. For the time being I've glued it back in place but can someone point me at a replacement. I'm having trouble matching the output rating and the size of the plug on the other end. 20191109_150132 (1).jpg It's for use with a SCART/HDMI converter I bought f...

And I should say that when I put the ROM into the upper 16K only, it worked as expected. No need to fill both banks.

Re: PLCC Chip Extractor

Jonard extractor arrived today. I was a bit suspicious because it doesn't feel that much more solid than the cheap one I bought. But the proof is in the using. Extracted the ROM first time with minimal effort and didn't damage the chip.

Re: AT28C256 Compatibility

Thank you. Duplicating the ROM image in both 16K "banks" worked. The ROM is now recognised.

PLCC32 to 32 Pin DIP Adapter

I would like to have a go at changing the ROM composition in the retroclini multi-OS. Mark tells me that I will need a PLCC32 to 32 Pin DIP Adapter. Can anyone recommend one that'll work with a TL866II programmer?

Many thanks.

PLCC Chip Extractor

I bought this extractor on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HGIQCD2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is not very good. It doesn't close evenly making it very difficult to get the chip out of the socket. Can anyone recommend a reliable extractor? Many thanks. Chris.

AT28C256 Compatibility

I bought some Atmel AT28C256 EEPROMs to try out with a TL866II programmer. After writing a beeb ROM image to the chip I found it wasn't recognised when plugged into a cartridge slot or one of the internal ROM slots. After asking the person I bought the cartridge from I am suspicious that the AT28C25...

Re: EPROM?

Building the minipro from the gitlab repos on my Mac worked fine and it was able to find the device. I pulled a ROM from my beeb and tried to read it but the sticker on the ROM means I can't tell the type. I've ordered some EEPROMs to try with it.

Thanks for all the help.

Re: EPROM?

My TL866II has arrived. Has anyone succeeded in making it work on MacOS or Linux? It comes only with software for Windows.

I found a gitlab repos with a command line tool ... but my Linux-running laptop doesn't recognise the device when I plug it in.

Re: EPROM?

Thanks. I think I miss-typed EPROM when I meant EEPROM. Takes me back to "borrowing" Basic and other ROMs from school beebs and having blowing a copy with some cool big HP kit that a friend of the family had.

EPROM?

I've bought myself a TL866II Plus EPROM programmer and would like give it a go. I need some EPROMs. I have a Master 128 with a cartridge case with a space slot for a ROM. What kind of EPROM should I get?

Thanks for your help.

The UPURS stuff looks simpler - just a cable and some software on either end. I see it was extended to layer a filesystem over the link.

RS232 to USB

This caught my eye: https://www.circuitsurgery.com/store/rs423-usb-adaptor.html It claims to support transfer of files from PC to BBC and vice versa. Has anyone given it a go and if yes, does it work as advertised? If not this, perhaps someone is using a different solution to link their PC with thei...

Attached are the Python programs I wrote to extract the 6502 series into dedicated PDFs. mkdownload.py - redirect output into a batch file. Run to download the full PDFs. split.py - extract the pages you want from each PDF into a separate PDF. merge.py - merge extracted PDFs into a single "series" P...
