Re: Today I received.....

Not sure what podules to fling in it other than SCSI for MEU and possibly Color card from R260 as it doesn't get used properly in that machine. Ethernet podule? Relive the internet ca. 1996 Forgot about that, and have a spare. Internet would be scary and a bit of a no-no but it would be handy for g...

Re: ADFS/ZIDEFS format for using CF card with PC?

That's a good idea, and one I'll try, but I also want to use this SD card to replace the existing ESDI drive, so I'd want an ADFS partition on there too. (If I can't get a second partition, I might have to opt for a second CF card and converter.) Did you ever get this working ? Have an A5000 myself...

I think I am going to give it to my friend to look at once he's finished with my A5000. May give the board a quick blow with compressed air but otherwise not risking blowing it/myself up.

Re: Trying again with my A3010....

Main intrigue is I have my adelaide board back, was going to pop it in and see if the machine could be coaxed back to life. Do you mean the Adelaide board was removed/desoldered from the PCB? That would have been a lot of work I'm sure... I was considering removing the Adelaide from my early A3010 ...

Trying again with my A3010....

What do I need to connect bare minimum to see if there is any life? Are Floppy drive power connectors the same on all the A30x0 series? - I have ahem *mislaid" the one for my A3010, but can lay hands on one from an A3000 I have lying about. Re: A3010 Econet

So, I bought a relatively clean A3010 at the last RONWUG meeting. Got it cleaned up, fitted an IDE interface, but it just didn't feel right without Econet. Looking at the A3010 and A3020 circuit diagrams, there are only 3 signals that aren't available on the mini-podule interface, and one of them i...

I have an identical spec R260 and have RISCiX on SCSI2SD. If you want the SD card image, let me know. I've had the ColourCard working under RO3 but don't think RISCiX liked it so tended not to use it. I've got another ColourCard in my (RO3-only) A540 and it works really well once you get the config...

Re: A540 with VGA monitor (DEL) should it work?

sometimes for whatever reason, the "holding keys on boot" doesn't work and you have to do it a different way. My R260 is particularly obstinate after a long period of inactivity. So after your DEL power-on do the following: Power on Wait 20 seconds or so Press CTRL G. This will emit a continuous bee...

Re: FPA 10 diagnosis...

You're probably fine if you're using a recent version of FPE, but as long as the FPEmulator doesn't have an 'E' in its version number (*help fpemulator) then it should support hardware FPA. You will also need to turn on the FPA test in !Si, if that's what you're using, or it will not even look for ...

Probably a stupid question, but are you using the FPA-supporting version of FPEmulator (4.xx)? The standard RISC OS 3.1 version won't work properly.
