Re: BCP: a BBC Micro printed circuit design program

I only have one side of silk showing at once as both confuses me! But I do like to see both copper at once, but I guess if its configurable you might just please everyone. Oh yes, just a bit of a trick. I've only used that once I think in about 100k of 6502 instructions. PS can you choose outl...

I think some of the nula finctionality is already in the pi based version hoglet and co did. You run in a mono mode and the pi does the rest.
I don't remember exactly what is supported.

Re: Acorn World and ABUG meetup, Cambridge 20-22nd September 2019. FULL

For anyone attending who has bought one of my micro SD "MMC" adaptors for their beeb and wants to swap the supplied SmartSPI for an MMFS variant (following the recent bug fix) I will be bringing some spare MMFS EPROMS for B/B+/Master and will swap it for you if you like. The bug fix fixes an incompa...

Re: Software for Rom/Ram boards

I make my games so that the main "exe" can be used as a ROM, it is only a small additional header to handle the * game . I also compress them using the compressor I posted. It's ~80 bytes and fast compared to most decompressors. It's not great compression but only really needs to get 16-20K small en...

Re: Help needed with VIC20

Well done, my first micro was a vic-20, which was later upgraded with a c64 motherboard and very dodgy PSU. The Vic got hundreds of hours use until I got a beeb, but the c64 only got about 8 hours (playing Uchi Mata) and spectrum about 8 minutes - which I regret a little now.

Re: DFS Explorer

I was saying that they are likely to be between 24 and 32 rows, so they should be a multiple of 24*8 or 25*8 .. 32*8, that is, a multiple of 192, 200..256 high and common widths will be 320 bytes wide for mode 4, 5 or 6 and 640 wide for modes 0,1,2 or 3; sometimes games use a narrower screen to save...

They will probably be a multiple of 8 times something between 24 and 32 (192, 200...256) And horizontally probably a multiple of 256, 320, 512 or 640.

I also wonder if SmartSPI is hitting the same issue - I guess so - Duikkie?

Is it possible that it has been wired for a PC, as electrically, I can't see how just rewiring would convert from two analogue channels to 4 digital bits (direction only).

I'm sure it is only old browsers (used by grumpy old men?) that will have this problem and as I say, Google will find stuff, so probably not important.

Being a horizontal scroller it would be a better fit for the r-type demo I put up a little while ago.

I did think about it, but it is a big game and I like to kickout everything and have the machine all to myself ;)

There is hobgoblin 2 or even a beebug game.

There is a trackball that was modified for the beeb, it has pots geared where the opto mech would be and to the beeb is just an analogue joystick.

You could use the palette if you changed to not mode 7 first, but I guess he did say immediately after boot.
