Speech

While going through my old tapes the other week, I came across this. UEF and DSD attached. "Speech by D.A.W. and C.J.H." Plays a sample of digitised speech. I remember it as a kid. Pretty sure it was before Superior Software Speech came out. It doesn't appear to work on the Windows emulators but it ...

Archimedes

Hi all,

Opinions on the best (free) Archimedes emulator?

Also, is there a repository of applications (like the Amiga and Atari TOSEC archives)

cheers!

Thanks to member LardoBoffin , I've scanned them all in and made them available here: https://we.tl/x6t2VByAWE If someone wants to make them available on a more suitable website, feel free. C...

Re: Z80 CoPro Manuals

Hi, Yes, I have scanned the manuals but not had chance to properly make the PDFs as good as they could be. I'm travelling currently and don't expect to be able to get the originals tarted up proper until the end of the week at least. Email me at ihardcas@gmail.com and I'll send you what I have in th...

Re: OmniFlop

Drive is a 1.2Mb PC - I forget the make - seems to work fine otherwise. Obviously XP wont format 5.25" floppies but it seems to otherwise read and write FAT16 floppies just fine...

Yes, the M512 initializes to the 80186 512K banner when enabled.

OmniFlop

Hi Gang, Having trouble with Omniflop... hopefully someone here has used it successfully. I got myself a PC with the suitable hardware to support my 5.25" drive. Downloaded Omniflop 3.0 and installed the floppy driver. WinXP SP3. Took one of my BBC DFS disks. Omniflop correctly identified it as a 80...

UPURS & BBC Master 512 DOS Plus disks

Hi all,

Is it possible to use UPURS to etch some DOS PLUS disks from the images provided at the cowsarenotpurple site? Or any other site?

Each time it borks with track>79 error.

cheers!

Re: making a tape *RUN file Locked?

I know there is little programs that can unlock the CFS system, so a *LOAD"" still loads the file (without it stopping and saying Locked PCW (Personal Computer World) was sued for publishing just such a code snippet and had to recall and pulp the entire issue containing it back in the 80's. Luckily...

Re: Hello! I'm Jon from York - love BBC Micros

Welcome - I were dragged up in Haxby, just North of York and purchased my first Elk from the Asda (where it used to be) in Huntington!

I remember Micro Bridge in York centre were the Acorn dealers in York!

Paul - if you can supply the disk, that would be so much simpler. Should I PM you my address? Of course, I will compensate as appropriate.

Thanks for the tips!

Re: Software for Acorn Z80 SP

Thanks! I'm sure I can knock a cable together. I don't have the facilities for EPROM burning. I do have sideways RAM though - I could binary transfer that image with a serial cable, load it into SWRAM and be off to the races.. Would that work? UPURS looks like just the thing I need - the manual look...

Software for Acorn Z80 SP

Hi all, I've just introduced myself in the 'introductions' forum. I acquired a Z80 SP some years ago but it didn't come with software. I know I can download the images and use tools on a PC to make the disks but at this time, I don't have a 5.25" drive hooked up to a PC. The hardware works OK - it d...

New to STH

Hi all, Just thought I'd introduce myself - I've recently half moved back to the UK from a long spell abroad so have started consolidating my old hardware from various attics to my house. I'll provide all the serial numbers at some point for the German Tank project but for now will detail my stash. ...
