Got this machine this week...

Issue 2
Serial: 000338

I have another 3 very similar but they missing serials on the outside. Will open them up and have a look to see if they have internal numbers.

Looks like it has been stored somewhere damp, looking at the cassette, RGB, composite video and Modulator connectors on the side.

Acorn Winchester Disc 110 - Drive replacement

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if an MFM Seagate ST 251-1 would be compatible with Acorn Winchester Disc 110 hardware? I've managed to obtain a working drive - before I start fumbling around thought I'd ask (unusual for me) - :D Drive is one of these... www.ataripc.net/wp-content/uploads/Seagate-ST251-Pr...

Re: Acornsoft P-System

Did anyone ever use the Acornsoft P-System package? I remember it was some kind of alternative OS for Beeb + 6502 2nd processor. It came with some extra languages and applications IIRC. Has anyone actually used it and what did they think? Cheers. I used it around 1985-6 (if I recall correctly) on a...

Yer - I’ve been trusting my old digital multimeter for years - 1v out is surprising and very frustrating. Time to fire up my oscilloscope i think.

BeebSCSI Harddrive Images?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a working Panos BeebSCSI Disk/LUN Image they could share with the group?
For that matter - If anyone wants to share any of their disk images - that would be really great (I'll post something soon here).

Ps. Loving BeebSCSI - Amazing work!

Re: BBC/Master Power Supply Adjustment

Yesterday I checked another 2 machines and both were also showing around 6v - so being a little suspicious I splashed out on a new Multimeter - and lo and behold, all the machines are reading around 5v on the new meter. Lesson learned, don't always trust old equipment to fix old equipment A.

Re: BBC/Master Power Supply Adjustment

Thanks Mark, I just tried that and looks like the power supply is failing. On gently adjusting the potentiometer, the voltage either goes up to around 7v or suddenly drops from around 6.2V down to 2v and the PSU starts to click, it wont set to 5v at all. So....any clues to what needs replacing in th...

Re: BBC/Master Power Supply Adjustment

Thanks all for the great advice (as usual) The tolerance of most 5V TTL and compatible chips is at worst, 4.75V to 5.25V. So in practice, you should measure the voltage on the +5V rail at the point on the motherboard that is furthest from the power supply connection point. The voltage here should be...

BBC/Master Power Supply Adjustment

Hi all,

I just noticed that my Master is delivering nearly 6v on the 5v rail of the power supply - which might explain why it seems to be killing eproms fairly regularly. :(

Does anyone got any advice for adjusting the power down to the correct level?

Cheers
