Re: Help with Gotek for Master ADFS

You shouldn't need to convert to hfe. adl files should work fine if you've set host = acorn. However, the .adl file needs to be exactly 640kb (IIRC) otherwise Gotek will complain You also don't need to use indexed mode (and rename the files), unless you've got a specific reason to do this. Ah, ok -...

Re: Help with Gotek for Master ADFS

Update:

Slight improvement - USB device needs to be formatted FAT32/MBR

Gotek is now seeing files and can index through them - but unable to cat them, gives Disk error 50

I've tried

Code: Select all

interface = ibmpc
and

Code: Select all

interface = shugart
Both give Disk error 50

Help with Gotek for Master ADFS

Hi Guys, I’m really struggling to get a FlashFloppy Gotek working on a Master with ADFS. The device works really well under DFS (.SSD files), but everything I’ve tried so far to get it to work under ADFS (.ADL files) fails (Gotek just freezes on F-F and wont select files). I’ve setup a seperate USB ...

Sorry for slow response Alan, been a busy weekend. I think ours maybe the last remaining Barson System 4's - do you know of any others? Nice that you have the folder too :D Thanks for the offer to Scan - I'll form up a list this evening if I get a chance. Not sure if I can help with the Drives, I on...

Re: Pix of all my System4 hardware and documentation

Hi Alan, That's fantastic, exactly what I needed. I can clearly see how they did those drive mounts now - looks like a fairly straight forward(ish) job with some BICC parts. So I see you also have a Barson Computers assembled System 4 - snap =D> =D> =D> Same linear power supply! Nice one. Thanks als...

Hi Alan, Fantastic, you're very lucky to have a whole machine - mine is little more than bits that I've been building for a few years using Trevor Ham's replica boards. It's the double height Vero frame System 4, I uploaded some photos in a prev post here... https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.p...

Acorn System 3 / 4 Floppy Drive Enclosure help

Hi All, I’m in the process of constructing a pair of Acorn System 3/4 drive enclosures to mount a pair of Tandon 5.25 full height drives into a System 4 Eurocard case. Yup - the connector is away from the PSU - you've had it in backwards I'm afraid :( It's highly possible you've toasted the CPLD in the beebscsi :(

d.
Yep - that was a dumb user error - dead as a dodo :(
Luckily the BeebSCSI is ok.

BeebSCSI VFS Adapter issue

Hi all, I finally got around to testing the BeebSCSI VFS Adapter (internal Master interface card) for BeebSCSI today - I've had it for 2 years but never got time to try it out but lockdown's given me a bit of time. I'd love a couple of ASCII keyboard PCBs as well, so if trev is doing another run (and will make it more cost effective), I'll go for some.

Re: System 2/3/5 Keyboard Progress

Hi Ade, I have @trev-ham's keyboard PCBs which output ASCII as required by the System 2/3/5 CPU Card. For the ASCII <-> USB conversion I designed a board -- basically I wanted to test my keyboard as soon as I built it. I'll put the files on GitHub and add a link here when done.
