Re: ABUG Cambridge Sept 7th-9th 2018 BOOKING THREAD

I’m hoping to be there all weekend now but don’t need a table for kit - I’ll just hang out with Tricky with my laptop. :D If anyone could bring a Master with the dodgy VLSI CRTC chip that doesn’t display Twisted Brain or Scramble properly that would be very helpful for us to debug the timing myster...

Re: ABUG Cambridge Sept 7th-9th 2018 BOOKING THREAD

I have only just realised that we are part of "Acorn World" again :) http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/43277/Acorn-World-Exhibition-8th-9th-September-2018/ Does that mean they will have extra exhibits out in the main hall again? That could change the space requirements in the classroom, e.g. I...

Re: ABUG Cambridge Sept 7th-9th 2018 BOOKING THREAD

Hi, good to see people planning their projects for the meet up :) I'm hoping to have a playable (though still not complete :( ) demo of my Tequila worm game to show off. Also a reminder that for anyone not on the attendee list (which has been full for some time..) - if you'd just like to pop along (...

Re: New version of Scramble for the beeb (going well)

I've been thinking about difficulty and apart from the arcade difficulties that I know of: - max 1 or 3 rockets flying at the same time. - fuel draining slow or fast (4 or 6 for me). I was thinking of adding: - extra flying saucers: 4..6 - extra meteors: 4..6 I'm trying to think what would make a g...

Hi,
Oh! It's news to me too! I haven't been to the museum for a good few weeks. I guess it makes sense and would be easy to set up.. They could reuse the write ups that me and several others here wrote up for last year's event

As per another thread...I'm late to the party. But just to add my 2 cents and join everybody else in saying what an incredible demo that is! Knowing the capabilities (and limitations) of the Beeb (or Master) only serves to blow my mind further! I'm really looking forward to the techie write up.

Hi, Late to the thread..but just to say I was well impressed when I saw the WIP conversion at the Hampshire ABUG, even if I couldn't remember the name of the game. This is a port of SCUMM v1, which is the original (non-enhanced) PC versions of Maniac Mansion : . As ever, I do have a question ! :D Yo...

Re: ABUG Cambridge Sept 7th-9th 2018 BOOKING THREAD

Probably worth highlighting in the first post that although the attendee list (actually a table list) is full, people can still turn up on the day as visitors to join in the fun :-) Good idea. I think I made a similar note last year. I've amended the top post accordingly. For now, I'll hold off on ...

Re: ABUG Cambridge Sept 7th-9th 2018 BOOKING THREAD

There are a handful of ROMs I'd like to see dumped during this event, assuming someone will have suitable equipment there. Can I put forward a wishlist? No harm in asking! :) Presumably bar a Beeb and the actual ROM..and means of exporting to modern storage, which many of us have.. only a ROM dump ...

Is it necessary to book this in advance, or can we just rock up on the weekend? I live within walking distance, but I'm somewhat at the mercy of other factors. As Ian posted - if want to have table space - yes booking is needed. If you'd just like to pop along for an hour or two without table space...

Re: Kevin Edwards assembler series in Micro User

I don't know where it is in Master MOS. Before now as a quick and dirty workaround to find where a routine is in Master OS, I've found the sequence of bytes I'm interested in in OS 1.2 and then opened up B-em in Master 128 mode. If you call up debug option from the menu, you can then use m <addr in ...
