Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

The discs re-posted are... D023, D027, D031 and D041 in section 3 which contain Manic Mechanic, Tutankhamen, Galactic I...

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Thank you both for your wonderful comments. I believe the collection on this thread is about or above 90% complete. There were, however, some games that were sourced from copied discs and these may or may not have been altered at some point. As forum members find listings in mags, or original tapes ...

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc 083 in Section 5.
This is due to Lee typing in the original listing for Noughts and Crosses from OWL Magazine.
The old copy of the game has been moved to ALTD012 until we find out if it was published by someone else or was just a hack.

regards,
Mick.

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc 035 in Section 3.
This is due to adding instructions taken from The Disk User magazine to Blobber.
I still would love to get my hands on the missing picture loader that is printed in the mag, but not on the disks.

Mick.

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc 034 in Section 3.
This is due to adding some brief instructions to Polar Perils from various reviews. These now occupy the original copyright notice that was present on the tape version and will have to do until full inlay ones surface.

Mick.

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi, Thanks for clearing that up. Would my original changing of that code at &7700 to a *TAPE routine have affected anything though? Surely any game being downloaded over the disc interface area would be better off with a *TAPE routine added. Would it not be worth testing Uridium fully with both the ...

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi Bill, In the Game file there is some sort of routine at &7700 that looks like it used to load something from disc. It may be something else, but looks like some sort of attempt at loading a file from disc to me. Or is it simply something to ignore? regards, Mick. PS Did the author create the disc...

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi, I only sent the *TAPE version to Lee for checking. The version now on D031 is the Bill C version as requested by Lee. The only thing I have removed is my own hidden code from the instructions as this code was only used in my old version and not in this one as the code is now in a different place...

Re: Answer Back Quizes on disc

Now managed to get the SPORT game working from disc.

Does anyone have a copy of the inlay instructions for this game as it differs slightly from the other 2?
I have made some instructions, but would like to clarify them with the originals if possible
.

Mick.

Re: Detecting BeebEm

Hi All, The version of Uridium I had used on D031 was a sort of Hybrid of the original tape files and then the last file from a disc hack as it was protected on tape. I had stored some code in my instructions to be stored at &100 which loads the main game to avoid having to alter/extend the original...

Answer Back Quizes on disc

Hi All,
I now have the disc version of Answer Back Quiz: Senior, but only the tape versions of Junior and Sport.

Does anyone have the disc copies of Answer Back Quiz: Junior and Answer Back Quiz: Sport as they may be different from the tape copies like Senior is?

Mick.

Re: Detecting BeebEm

Yep, sorry about the ? error.

A simple test is...

10 IF ?&FE10=&64 THEN PRINT "BeebEm".

You could also change the &64 to simply 100.

This routine is how BeebEm4.14 gets detected.

Mick.

Yes, when I started amending the games for BeebEm, only BeebEm and B-em were around. Now onto more issues... Twin Kingdom Valley by Bug Byte. Re: Detecting BeebEm

Basically, BeebEm has a few faults with its emulation. This means several games do strange things that they do not do on a real BBC or under B-em. The current version of BeebEm 4.14 stores the variable &64 at location &FE10 where B-em returns a value of 0. Therefore it has become possible to check l...
