Old EPROM programmers/testers

I've been sent an email about some old EPROM programmers/testers that someone is bringing along to the London Show for the charity stand. As this looks like quite niche stuff I thought I'd mention it here. If anyone wants it who can't make it to the show, we (well, Flibble!) could grab it and bring ...

Re: I neede help [on many levels!]

There is a StrongHelp manual for using the GPIO module. I think it (module and help file) is in the standard RO Pi disc image, but if not get it from here - http://www.tankstage.co.uk/Software/ There are several threads over on the ROOL forum about using GPIO, e.g: https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/f...

Feltham's spitting distance away. Will there be a bar?!
The hotel bar is only one floor down from the show rooms and should be open from midday :-)

Three weeks to go until this year's London Show! The StarDot exhibitors we have so far are Tricky, RobC and Jim Russell (with his "Beeb" running RISC OS). Anyone else want a stand to show off stuff? Everyone else come along for for the fun! Play with some robots, hear how the University of Cantabria...

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

What options did you select when using HForm 2.71? It will probably default to using new format with long filenames, which RO3.1 won't understand. I've never tried but I would expect that if you pick old format, old directories, short filenames, then even the latest HForm should produce something re...

There must be someone in the London/southeast area who could come along and talk Beeb?

Has anyone tried RiscOS 5.22 on RiscPCs and A7000 series systems?
Unless you really know what you are doing, don't do this.
If so how compatible is it with 90s era software?
Very bad. Unless it is pure BASIC it is unlikely to work.

Most podules won't work either.

There are usually a few kids there who have a go on the games and end up getting their dads to have a go too but there was only 1 that I saw yesterday so my stand was pretty quiet.
They were all next door playing games on the AMCOG stand

Analogue joysticks FTW! So much better than those tacky digital things on inferior computers :D

More seriously, I suspect the analogue port got a lot of use in school (and commercial?) science labs for hooking up to monitoring equipment.

Looks like the riscos.info website is down. You could probably remove it from the list of package sources so PackMan doesn't try to connect to it, or just wait for it to come back up.
