Re: BASIC V POWA ! :)

AMCOG produces games which are all written in BASIC, although the minimum spec machine for them is a Pi1 which has rather more processing power than the original Archimedes!

Re: Force changing the screen mode on Risc PCs

Holding down numbers has never worked for me Just checking that you are holding down the numbers on the numeric keypad, not on the main keyboard? To check if it really has started up ok, try pressing F12 and then Ctrl-G which should beep. Then try entering "WimpMode 28" to switch to VGA mode, which...

Not that it would have affected the overall result, but you used my last score (6220) for Arcadians not my hi-score (8370) :?

That was the only two games I had time to play!

Projector v1.27 is the latest I've found. Now I just need to hack it to scale films to the correct size in modern high res modes! On the meeting page is a link to my hacked version of Projector, 1.27b, that scales things correctly, along with a zip of sample films. http://rougol.jellybaby.net/meeti...

Re: How to add a screenmode to riscos

If you look in !Boot.Resources.Configure.Monitors there should be a bunch of definition files for lots of monitors. Copy the one you are currently using, edit the line near the top that says "monitor_title:" to give it your own unique name, then add acorndave's lines into it. To test it, drag the fi...

Re: BBC-B Joystick/Analogue Fault

Remember that because these are analogue joysticks, the computer is measuring the resistance from the potentiometers. With no joystick connected, it is infinite resistance, so it will look like the joystick is pushed fully over. A joystick in its central position would, if everything is working, gen...

Thanks davidb, I've managed to grab some useful examples from there.

Attached is Projector v1.27 which is the latest I've found. Now I just need to hack it to scale films to the correct size in modern high res modes!

For compatibility with most games, you'll be better off using Arculator.

You'll still need ADFFS within that to access the JFD files!

Re: Joystick

I always preferred the Voltmace analogue joysticks, and some games can only be played with analogue sticks.

For digital joysticks, there have been several adapters for Atari style ones posted on StarDot, but I've no experience with them.
