Re: RISC OS SW Show, Bristol, Sat 16th Feb 2019

With only a week to go until the SW Show, one of the organisers has just posted this over on the RISC OS Open forum: Because we are taking the two main rooms at the new SouthWest Show venue in Bristol, the hotel has offered us extra space this year at no extra cost, in a connecting suite. As such, i...

Thanks,

Re: Ideas please for BBC Micro splash screen

Reading the 'Acorn MOS' wiki article today jogged my memory, isn't there 768 bytes where the 'credits' are in the rom that could be used? Yeah, but you can only read them by taking the MOS ROM out and putting it into a spare socket in another machine, because those bytes are under the I/O space. Fr...

Re: ADFS/ZIDEFS format for using CF card with PC?

Assuming you have RO3.1, it has DOSFS in ROM, but IIRC it only supported Fat16, i.e. partitions less than 32MB (yes, MB) in size. So you could try creating a small, 30MB say, partition on the CF card and formatting that as Fat16. Hopefully when you put that into the Arc it will be recognised by DOSF...

Re: RPCEmu 0.9.0 and Macs - beta testers wanted

Do you have a roadmap anywhere? See Mathew's slides from this ROUGOL presentation - http://rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/2018/jun.html why not just have it all in the same folder as the emulator and allow the user to simply drag that folder from the DMG to wherever they wish to install it? Sure, it...

Not sure yet. I've asked Paul Emerton (Keith's son) as he runs a video production company, so would be the obvious person to do a good job recording it!

A bit of a long shot, but is anyone able to bring along a Domesday system, as I don't think we've ever had one at the London Show? Or maybe one of the "emulated" versions that use a PC pretending to be the laser disc player? Impressive bit of digital preservation!

Thanks,

Re: Do we need more ABug meets? If so, where should they be?

It just takes someone to organise it. Preferably who lives in that part of the country. I am sure Bristol would be quite a good one, plenty of people around there. The SW Show is moving to a new venue next year, The Arnos Manor Hotel, which is closer to the centre of Bristol. From my brief visit th...
