Re: Lion's RISC OS archive

What's the deal with PD programs in collections? I have the idea that you could re-publish/distribute the individual programs, but not as part of the collection, since that's a separate "work" that has its own copyright and restrictions. Does anyone know if that's the case? If it is, presumably you...

Nah, all give you a 9 out of 10, because you got all the other levels right, plus I have trouble remembering what I did 12 months ago, yet alone 12 years ago.

Re: Rocket Raid Returns for it's 30th Anniversary.

Hi Benjy, The pink level your thinking of is the very start, with lots of missiles coming up the screen. It then turns red as you fly through a cave system with some little monsters moving up and down, through to the green section with the asteroids coming across the screen, followed by the high blu...

Rocket Raid Returns for it's 30th Anniversary.

http://stratagames.co.uk/rrsig.jpg I am happy to announce that Strata Games, working together with Jonathan Griffiths and with the kind permission of Superior Interactive, is hard at work on a 30th Anniversary remake of the classic BBC Micro game Rocket Raid. Rocket Raid - Genesis. Based on Rocket ...

Re: The Snow...

Well, i'm not sure what it's like around the rest of the UK. But we have had a good couple of inches of snow in the last 2 hours here in Notts. Just when we had finally got rid of the first lot.
Guess I'd better dig the snow shovel out again. #-o

PRES Plus 1 Circuit Diagram (SOLVED)

I'm looking for a circuit diagram of the Plus 1. Preferably the PRES one, but the Acorn one would be fine.
Had a look on BBC Docs and Chris's Acorn's sites but couldn't find any mention.

Thanks
Andy.

Some BBC B and Elk items

Hi All, I'm after a few bits to get my original collection working again. For the BBC i'm after a Floppy Bridge with a 5 1/4 and a 3 1/2 floppy drive (It's running Watford DDFS 1.54T) for the Elk i'm after a power supply, the number 5 key and a 3 1/2 floppy drive for the PRES Plus 3. I would prefer ...

Which Font (SOLVED)

I'm hoping an expert here could help.

I'm looking for the name of the font used in the Acornsoft game Rocket Raid.
I found some that are close, but not quite the same.

Anybody know what it is called or one that is very similar.

Thanks
Andy

Re: Stardot logo

Just a thought - as long as it doesn't result in a lengthy and expensive legal battle, how about using the owl as favicon? Matt Having a very quick look through the IPO, I can not see any for the owl logo. BBC is covered in several categories but not the the owl. It would certainly need further che...

On the legal front, it's actually fun to see just how much litigation fodder one can cram into a logo. Here's a possible revision to the bottom of my Elite 'scanner' submission. Re: Stardot logo

The only objection I can see towards that is that people seem to be getting scared of the Acorn logo, but take no heed... This could be something to do with a certain Frenchman trying to start Acorn up again. He has been known to sue first talk later. Speaking as an angry Electron and RISC OS user ...

Re: Discuss: Which Acorn game most in need of upgr

the crucial difference, I believe, is that not only is it free software and makes no use of the Elite trademarks but it was also written from the ground-up from scratch and is not based on any of the original source code. You beat me to it Samwise :) Oolite would be classed as a "clone". It's a bit...

I would be more pissed off with the disc images and straight ports being freely available than with someone creating something from scratch! We would only have to change the names of things slightly. A 25-30 year old game is surely public domain now anyway? If he moans about it, we'll bung him a sm...

Re: Discuss: Which Acorn game most in need of upgr

I've been toying with the idea of remaking old games with an app called "Unity". I'm pretty sure it's C++/Java based. Anyone know what they're doing with those languages? I could knock up some models of the spacecraft! I've been playing around with Unity for the last couple of months. The coding is...

Yep. My mum has been sorting out over Christmas and found some things I left there when I moved out 12ish years ago. That is the Repton badge I got when I was young.
