Hello and welcome to LOLPRICE, USA edition. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Fax-Modem-M0177-NOS-Original-box-packaging-and-literature/153758334182 Those things aren't exactly common, and I get that it's NOS, but come on. Re: Elite - 6502 2nd processor Executive Edition

Sorry for coming to this late... This is a remarkable find! The "press Tab" trick reveals the secret, which would otherwise remain hidden. It's amazing that this never had a commercial release, I wonder what its origin is. IMG_4355.jpeg IMG_4357.jpeg IMG_4358.jpeg (Photos taken on Master 128 Turbo w...

Re: For sale: 2x Acorn Electrons with various expansions (seller based in United States)

I can't pick them up, but I do live in California, so I'm closer than most.

If you've had no other interest I might be able to be convinced if shipping is possible.

Re: Acornsoft View versions

MOS 3.5 View reports 28926 bytes free with the tube disabled and 47943 with it turned on, so it's definitely using a few extra K.

PiTubeDirect provides a megabyte of banked RAM in this mode. I just wondered if any existing software would even know to look for it.

Acornsoft View versions

Is the version of View supplied in the Master OS ROM the last version available for the Master? Or were there further updates?

Bonus question: Is there a version of View (or, actually, any word processor) that can use the extended RAM in the PiTubeDirect fast 6502 mode?

Oh well thank you for the warning!

(Also, thanks for your work with MAME. The BBC Micro emulation in recent versions is hugely improved.)

Thanks for the help. I also discovered there's quite a comprehensive set in the TOSEC collection.

ROM archive?

Is there a go-to place for BBC Micro/Master ROM images? I'm particularly interested in office-style software, word processors, databases, things like that.

Re: Post pictures of your beeb setup

This is my new setup here in California. It's an Ikea "Bror" workbench cart. I don't use my BBC super often so this way the entire thing can be wheeled away without having to unplug anything, except one power cable. Works well! I may be adding my Archimedes A3020 to the shelf underneath. IMG_4307.jp...

Re: US specification BBC Micro

OK well it's been a few months but I finally attempted to power it up. (I got distracted.)

Nothing happened. I measured the output of the PSU and it is outputting DC - but less than 1 volt.

So that's a disappointing start.

US specification BBC Micro

I have received what appears to be an un-UKified US specification BBC Micro. It was given to me as "not working", so I have not attempted to power it up. Is there anything I should test or do before plugging it in? (I am in the USA.)

Photos attached.

It's a bargain now, it was £140 -https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACORN-KEYBOARD-BBC-MICROCOMPUTER-SYSTEM-BRITISH-BROADCASTING-CORPORATION-/264140414268 :D I sent him a note to let him know it was overpriced (and that it's just a keyboard and not a computer), and he called me an idiot and told me that he...

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Depends how big the tables are, but if you're interested in the TAM, I can bring that, my BBC Master, and my Acorn A3020 as well. That would probably fill a table. If we're short on space I can drop the A3020, it's the least interesting.

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Both my BBC Master and my A3020 are fitted with Econet and I think I might even have a cable or two. I always wished someone would make an Econet-Ethernet bridge, for teleporting Econet signals over the internet via a central server. Then we could all share one single global Econet. ...might be impo...

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Thanks for the offer Lion - BBC Master + PVM sounds like a good combo. Do you have any peripherals / games / demos to run on it? Yes, lots. It has a DataCenter in it loaded with every piece of beeb software I know of. Plenty of music, at least one rolling demo, probably *all* games. I also have 5.2...

Hey there. I'm in Woodside CA and have a BBC Master 128 (working great), a B+ (untested but probably fine), an Acorn A3020 (should be fine), and a multi-standard Sony PVM for displaying things on.

A new monitor in NTSC land

Hello all! Been a while. Since moving to the USA I don't have as much time as I would like to play with my 8-bit hardware, but I still like it to be in working condition. I brought with me from the UK a small LCD television with an RGB SCART connector, which works well enough. Although I would love ...

Those kinds of shaders usually emulate NTSC televisions/monitors, don't they? PAL screens look a little different.

Are there disk images of the Master 512 disks that are in a format suitable to be imported into the DataCentre?

Assuming of course that this is possible. I understand they are unusual hybrid ADFS/DOS disks.

There's something weird about mode 7, the aspect ratio doesn't seem correct. It's too wide, or possibly not tall enough, not sure which. Other modes seem to look fine. It's great to have another emulator for the Mac. I was beginning to worry that one day BeebEm would no longer work on some macOS upd...
