Two (broken!) 5¼ drives for US$150.

They don't seem to include cases either.

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Depends how big the tables are, but if you're interested in the TAM, I can bring that, my BBC Master, and my Acorn A3020 as well. That would probably fill a table. If we're short on space I can drop the A3020, it's the least interesting.

It has nothing to do with Acorn, but I also have a fully functional Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh. They're pretty rare.

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Both my BBC Master and my A3020 are fitted with Econet and I think I might even have a cable or two. I always wished someone would make an Econet-Ethernet bridge, for teleporting Econet signals over the internet via a central server. Then we could all share one single global Econet. ...might be impo...

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Thanks for the offer Lion - BBC Master + PVM sounds like a good combo. Do you have any peripherals / games / demos to run on it? Yes, lots. It has a DataCenter in it loaded with every piece of beeb software I know of. Plenty of music, at least one rolling demo, probably *all* games. I also have 5.2...

Re: Proposal: San Francisco Bay Area user group

Hey there. I'm in Woodside CA and have a BBC Master 128 (working great), a B+ (untested but probably fine), an Acorn A3020 (should be fine), and a multi-standard Sony PVM for displaying things on.

A new monitor in NTSC land

Hello all! Been a while. Since moving to the USA I don't have as much time as I would like to play with my 8-bit hardware, but I still like it to be in working condition. I brought with me from the UK a small LCD television with an RGB SCART connector, which works well enough. Although I would love ...

Those kinds of shaders usually emulate NTSC televisions/monitors, don't they? PAL screens look a little different.

Master 512 disks for DataCentre?

Are there disk images of the Master 512 disks that are in a format suitable to be imported into the DataCentre?

Assuming of course that this is possible. I understand they are unusual hybrid ADFS/DOS disks.

Re: b2 - new emulator

There's something weird about mode 7, the aspect ratio doesn't seem correct. It's too wide, or possibly not tall enough, not sure which. Other modes seem to look fine. It's great to have another emulator for the Mac. I was beginning to worry that one day BeebEm would no longer work on some macOS upd...

Update! I swapped the card into a Pi 1 B+ and this seems to work fine.

So the problem is limited to the Pi 3?

Is the Pi 1 fast enough to cope?

Hope it's OK to hijack this thread. I received my Sundby Master internal level shifter, plopped a Pi 3 with the PiTubeDirect package in it and... it NEARLY works. IMG_2732 (1).jpg It hangs here. If I press Break instead of Ctrl-Break, I get a star prompt, but *BASIC hangs again, so BASIC is hanging....

Indeed. This is why I used 3.7. It's probably still not legal to distribute, but as far as I know, there's no way to purchase 3.7.

Later versions are still available.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but you can see this Emulator in use on the "Class of the 90s" VHS supplied with some Amiga 500's. You can see it on YouTube here:

Re: Stupid idiot Ebay and some sellers' listings

To be fair, I have the same option set on my seller account, and it's because if you routinely have a lot of listings, scammers like to buy literally everything you are selling all at once, and then not pay for them. (Or worse, pay for them with a stolen credit card, when you don't find out about un...

I'm sure that this is old-hat to most of you but I've never done this before, and I found it quite fun. With the aid of uef2wave (thanks davidb) I converted some UEF tape images to WAV files, converted them to 16-bit (which seems to be required to make it work properly), and then played them into my...
