Great work :D - seems it's not possible to use the viewdata terminal with anything other than 7E1 - who ever thought that was a good idea?!

Re: A7000 motherboard on it's way to me....

Hey Walter :) You can get away with a standard PC floppy drive (you'll need to set it to be drive 0, they're set as drive 1 by default) - but you could put a gotek with flashflopppy in it instead and remove all hassles of getting things onto 3.5" media? The RiscPCs weren't so compatible with the ear...

That was outstanding - not just the CRTC, but honestly, no one ever managed to coax such wonders out of the 78469 back in the day. Lurkio's right - you are the magic people :D

I wouldn't lash something up to give 3.3V - it won't be particularly accurate. There are plenty of devices that will do the job for you though, regulators as you say, and these little wonders too: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/switchin ... s/9068478/

The only reason to change any caps in the atom is if the video is looking a bit shonky. I had sticky pads and the lid seemed a better place for it to be louder? I bloody hate hot glue. Sticky pads are a bit less permanent. It was simply an arbitrary decision. Don't read anything into it.

Check the voltages coming out of the PSU. And the fuse in the plug. :) don't fret the mains stuff, just don't touch it whilst it's on, and use a screwdriver with a nice rubber handle to discharge the mains caps after you turn it off...

Re: Monitors

How exactly are those cables wired? I don't know of any VGA monitors that will accept a composite signal on their inputs, especially not one with a horizontal frequency of 15KHz like the beeb puts out? You need something to actually electrically convert the signal from composite to VGA, e.g.: https:...

Yeah, they're a bit quiet- you can up the volume in the ff.cfg. In so far as the USB configuration, there's very little to know - just drop ssd/dsd/adf files onto the usb stick, and ensure the line host = acorn is in the ff.cfg file :) You can arrange by directory or however you like, and use a FAT ...

Yup - you need to use https on those - it's not going to like mixing insecure scripts with secure web pages. Stardot is enforcing https now as it means you can't send your password in plain text, which means that it's less likely to get intercepted and therefore less likely that your personal inform...
