Raise it as an issue on github. 2.9 is experimental, 1.2 is stable release.

Re: 800K Master 512 disks on a Gotek

I think (and can't check at the moment) calling them adf should work so long as you have host=acorn. I can't remember if the sector's are 0-4 or 1-5 on that... It needs to be 1-5. If not you'll need to convert to HFE with 1024 byte sectors numbered 1-5.

Re: MIDI->STM32->Beeb->Music 5000

Good work :) - I'm fairly sure that's approximately the same as Dan's interface (although I think he's using an AVR by the looks of things to do the MIDI)? It's a shame the teensy didn't work - were you using a similar arrangement with the SPI input on interrupts? The nucleo is pretty cheap for prot...

Re: MIDI->STM32->Beeb->Music 5000

Yes, basically does the same, but less parts and is (and will be) an open design. The keyboard matrix is held in an array, the STM32 has hardware peripherals that can deal with the signals from the user port as it scans the keyboard matrix (it's basically SPI), and dealing with the MIDI is just a qu...

Re: Today I overclocked my A3010

No, but it's a better layout. I'd learnt a bit more by the time I'd done it. The 2-layer works fine at normal speeds, not sure how it'd be at high speed!

MIDI->STM32->Beeb->Music 5000

So, Some might have spotted this on the facebook group, but I've been playing around with an STM32F446 Nucleo board with a view to creating a very very cheap MIDI->Music 4000 converter. I've posted a couple of videos... 1) Demonstrating that the STM32 uC can actually pretend to be a Music 4000: http...

Re: CompactFlash card on Castle A30x0 IDE Mini Podule

The castle hardware has a shim - it doesn't have an IDEFS, it just runs with ADFS. I ran wizzo quite happily on my A3010 with the castle card and it just worked! However, I do have to say, now you're all making me doubt my memory! :)

Re: CompactFlash card on Castle A30x0 IDE Mini Podule

No, you need those in there as I think they allow filecore to speak to the interface, then wizzo basically can be used in place of ADFS. You'll need to re-bodge the ROM to include both. There's a version of wizzo that runs from ROM on the A5000 - I'd guess it'll work on the A3010 too as it's the sam...

Re: CompactFlash card on Castle A30x0 IDE Mini Podule

That's interesting. I loaded Wizzo from a floppy and it whimpered about not being able to find any hard drives. For wizzo you need to *conf. idedrives to set the right number of them. Is that different to the config setting the Castle interface uses? (*Conf. IDEDiscs) Oh, hang on - yes, it is. I ca...

Re: CompactFlash card on Castle A30x0 IDE Mini Podule

So, the Castle adaptor suffers the same issues as the onboard IDE in the A3020/A4000/A5000 and even RiscPC. It uses native ADFS rather than IDEFS and what it gets on with is dictated by the CF card... You can load wizzo from floppy and that'll get it playing properly with most things. The ROM has so...

Re: Elk Expansion Options?

Actually, you can just dangle an SD reader off the Plus 1's printer port and use MMFS. You'll need a ROM cartridge to hold the MMFS ROM, but davejhitchins can supply you with an appropriate device. The whole setup will be much cheaper than any alternatives... Going further, if you want to be a bit m...

Re: Raspberry PI Co-Pro 6502 more memory?

The extra memory on the master is very different to the RAM on the coprocessor, so unfortunately it won't let you run things that were developed specifically to work with the master (like SCR). The coprocessor just uses the computer it's connected to for inout/output (display, keyboard, disks etc). ...

Re: Electron Elite query

Cartridge games didn't run from ROM, they just used the cartridge as a fast tape (ROM filing system) to load it into RAM. I suspect it'd have needed a fair amount of rejiggling to run from ROM. If you want to know what this would have been like, have a poke at the mega-games cartridge :)

Re: Wanted Cumana Disk Interface for +1 Cartridge Port

They both do the same job, the circuitry is slightly different. They'll give you a disc system that doesn't play with the amount of memory available (DFS) and is compatible with all of the ssd/dsd disc images you'll find lying around, and the option of also adding an ADFS ROM which gives compatibili...

Re: Wanted Cumana Disk Interface for +1 Cartridge Port

Cumana is incompatible with standard disc formats. Added to that, most suffered battery rot so you're very unlikely to find one.

You should look for a Pegasus 400 or AP3/4 (Speak to daveejhitchins on here, he should be able to help?)
