Re: Technodream on emulation

The credits at the bottom of the apdl webpage mention Aaron Timbrell / 3QD. You could give him a try http://www.riscos.com/contact_details/index.htm Certainly worth a try, as Aaron was involved with APDL and (maybe) Proaction, but he might have a recent contact for David Bradforth, he had his Allig...

Re: Technodream on emulation

But it might be worth contacting CJE Micros who own 4D they might be able to help or might even one in stock - worth a try http://www.cjemicros.co.uk/ CJE don't own the 4D software any more -- it was sold to APDL some years before David Holden's unfortunate passing. I didn't know that , they obviou...

Re: Technodream on emulation

I was going to mention I spotted that on Ebay , but that is just people out to cash in/rip off people, no need to sell it for that much, which is probably why it hasn't sold !! There were another relase of Technodream later on, see the attached version that APDL/4th Dimension put out. This maybe stil...

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R09 - Chip Buster

It's been a while since I got the top score in one of the high score rounds, pretty good going too considering my first thoughts of the game weren't favourable ! I found the randomness of the bugs appearing very annoying, but other than that not a bad game.

on to Pengo now ..

Re: Technodream on emulation

I have dug out this re-issue version I have , it was the original Superior packaging, but instead of the discs came with a ProAction CD-ROM which also contains the BBC version of Nevryon. This version of Technodream does not require any floppy discs and runs perfectly on my ARMX6 (RISC OS 5.27) runn...

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R09 - Chip Buster

Actually don't worry about missing the previous score, i've just managed to beat it, think this is as far as I will get with this now, virtually impossible to do anything when the levels go invisible !

My best score yet, could of been higher if those annoying bugs didn't suddenly appear out of nowhere, there was plenty to fix all around me.

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R09 - Chip Buster

Much better score, can definitely improve again, just wish there was a map of the level , so know where to go next, especially when it's getting near critical and it starts beeping !

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R09 - Chip Buster

Much better score now, just wish there was a map of the level so you could see where to go next , especially when it starts beeping at you, not a bad game the more you play it and , I think the high score challenge gives it a bit more incentive to play it.

Re: Clogger: variant with level data files?!

As far a I can remember there was 3 levels of Clogger on the Micro User cover disc (why didn't we get any other free cover tapes/discs?) it was the December 1988 issue, maybe it gives some more info there. I had no idea Proaction re-issued Clogger later on, I still was buying all Acorn publications,...

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R08 - Manic Miner

Bit of an improvement, think that will probably be it now. How about a Jet Set Willy challenge? (not sure how it would work though - due to lack of scoring system). The only way I could see of possibly working it would be by items collected. I don't think it'd fit using the criteria for the high sc...

Do you know if Beebit support RobC's nULA chip upgrade?
Or even the SiD chip upgrade too?
I don't know to be honest, how would I know ? I'm running it on an ARMX6 - RISC OS 5.27 if that helps.

Re: Barbarian Controversy - Was It All Fake News?

Aah the Barbarian controversy , remember it well ! It was only Acorn User who felt the need to censor the adverts, Micro User, Electron User and A+B Computing didn't seem too bothered about it. I remember the letters in Electron User from the Vicar and also someone who was embarrassed to take EU int...
