Re: Looking for searchable index of magazines like Electron User and The Micro User

I've speeded it up now and stopped the magazines that were timing out from timing out. This feature really exposes just how many articles there are in the system - over 45,000. I need to make the multi-format mags show what system the review/preview/solution is for and add authors. If there's a tagl...

Re: Looking for searchable index of magazines like Electron User and The Micro User

I have made a start on this. It is added to the Search menu as Mag Index Search. Direct link here: http://www.everygamegoing.com/egg/magIndexSearch/ It's reasonably fast but I can make it faster. Also doesn't get authors yet. Tagging articles I'm not sure of as it would take me ages and not convince...

Re: Looking for searchable index of magazines like Electron User and The Micro User

Well considering *all* that information is already on my site (everygamegoing.com), all that I need to do is to write a simple little search tool to get it for you (or anyone else). However, you don't really say what you "want". Do you just want a whole 'articles featured in magazine' page? If so, h...

Re: You Can Now Sell Things On Everygamegoing

Well, the benefit(s) are: 1. It's free! 2. You just search by the name of the game and 'Add To Collection' to create the item 3. You click 'Sell' and it creates the whole description, along with reviews and everything that you'd expect 4. You don't need to upload a picture or pay anything when it se...

You Can Now Sell Things On Everygamegoing

Hello, I have opened up my site so that anyone can now sell their games using it (as long as you have a Paypal account). I would encourage anyone with any spare BBC games to create an account, add them to their collection and then bundle them up and list them in the shop. I can assure you that you *...

Re: Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

I'd have to dig out the tape and see if it still works... At some point when I get a few minutes I'll have a look. The £2.50 is probably the base price. A lot of the early Beeb stuff doesn't have the "rarity" fields populated and that means the game just shows with the base price. You can see how it...

Re: Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

Ok, well I don't know how to respond to that. No-one ever placed a really big order before and I don't know the size of your models. Originally I programmed it to automatically get the cheapest Royal Mail shipping service and, in the last 3-4 years, it always seemed to get it 100% correct, apart fro...

Re: Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

Where are you looking for those rates? I mean it costs me £1.54 to send a 1st class 124g DVD. How can it only be £3 for 2000g?

Re: Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

I think it's because it's a large order and it doesn't have the Parcelforce rates in there. Well, it didn't have them but it does now and so now it works it out as about £13.14 + £1.25 which seems a bit more reasonable. I've also added a little pop-up 'How Is Everygamegoing Working Out Shipping?' wh...

Re: Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

Oooh, and regarding your box_type comment, well Everygamegoing is one of the only sites where all the items have that information as a data field. I never thought to expose that in the shop quick view though. You can see it on the item pages. I'll see if I can squeeze it in during the shopping cart ...

Hi Jon,

Thanks for pointing that out. I've fixed it. Due to a little "upgrade" I just put it. You should be able to log in and complete your order now without issue.

Lots Of Duplicate Stuff On Everygamegoing

I have listed loads of spare Electron and BBC Micro stuff on Everygamegoing over the past couple of days. I have recently been developing this site like crazy and it has a *lot* of new content and functionality. Still needs a tweak here and there but it *seems* pretty stable. Hopefully I haven't ref...

Felix In The Factory For Electron With ZX*? Keys

The subject says it all. I want to play this game in Elkulator but the default keys are a nightmare. There are some hacked BBC versions on here that use the ZX:? keys but there's no Electron version that I know of. Would someone apply the same hack to the Electron version please? I would do it mysel...

Re: Electron User Group Games

As the person who ran the EUG magazine, I can categorically confirm that these games were not published anywhere else. :-)

They were sent to me on discs as soon as they were written and I copied them to the magazine and so they were "released" when each magazine came out

Polar Perils Cover Scan

I was just wondering something... Squirrel produced a number of games for the BBC/Electron. Super Golf seems to come up quite regularly so I guess they sold lots of these. Bun Fun I've never seen for sale, although Dave M had a single copy of it which I acquired a few years ago. Trafalgar I've seen ...
