Re: Unfinished Text Adventures

The bit you were stuck on is an annoying puzzle because it's sort of guess-the-verb -- but I suppose it was clued (Lbh'er abg dhvpx rabhtu), so maybe it's not entirely unfair..? :?: Not at all unfair, but I'd taken it to mean I'd made too many moves. So I was convinced that I needed to bring the bi...

Complete walkthrough for Part 1 (the blank lines -- the ones after the end of the spoiler space! -- are necessary if you're copying and pasting into BeebEm):

Yes, please post the walkthrough-so-far. And feel free to post (or PM me) the unQuilled file: I'll have a look at it and send you some hints, if you like..? :?: Ok, thanks Lurkio. I've attached them as opposed to pasting in, in case fuzzel or anyone else does play this next and doesn't want to see....

Re: Unfinished Text Adventures

Okay, so I'm playing Reluctant Hero, another Quilled game. This is in two parts and I'm stuck right at the end (I think) of part one. I've unquilled it but don't want to look yet! Is anyone familiar with this? I think I've done everything necessary, I just need to get out of the hotel and escape on ...

Re: SUDS help

I've just returned to Aussie Suds and am still stuck. I've managed to get as far as the old man's house and believe I need the parrot. From memory I don't ever recall seeing a parrot so my question is, is the parrot in part 1 (the ship) or part 2 (the beach, scrubland etc) ? I'd rather not have any...

Re: Gnome Adventure (from Model B Computing magazine)

Well, now that's finally out of the way, recommendations as to what vintage unsolved adventure to try and finally do next? (I'm hacking away still at 'Sea Queen' and have made a bit of progress. Suds is a possible if it's unsolved, as is 'Body in the Bunker'. Anything quirky and non-aliens, non-dun...

Re: SUDS help

Dave_E has said that Aussie Suds parts 1 to 3 were published by Electron User (and that he transferred them to disk) and that only part 4 was incomplete and unreleased. Here's the Electron User publication that Dave_E seems to be referring to -- it's on EveryGameGoing.com, a site which he runs: htt...

Re: SUDS help

The Suds trilogy consists of Suds , American Suds and Aussie Suds . Each part of the trilogy is in 4 parts, and both Suds and American Suds are readily available and have been played and completed by many people. Dave_E has said that Aussie Suds parts 1 to 3 were published by Electron User (and that...

What's the best way to flag up an old topic that would be better being moved to one of the new categories (and do the moderators think it worthwhile doing)? Thanks.

Re: SUDS help

I've just solved the first part of Aussie Suds, downloaded from bbcmicro.co.uk. The completion screen reads: "WELL DONE POM. I'd like to add that (if you're interested) 103 of the 496 "official" games remain unsolved (though some were never released and are therefore unsolvable). That's still over 20% and not good enough! Submit your maps and solutions!

Original version of the game completed with a score of 84% in 111 turns. That's not half bad! Wonder where you dropped the 16%... did you eat the pill? :? Hmm. I got 84% as well (in too many moves to mention!). I'm sure I ate the pill. Wonder what I missed..? :?: EDIT : I wonder if it's that <rot13...

No such variable at line 300. It's the space after TAB.
