Re: Master 128 Internal Tube/Expansion Pinout
Nice! 2) Carefully remove the black plug (noting which way it was fitted) Could you avoid this if you removed the Master PCB? Dave Yes but IMHO it's easier to remove & refit the plug than remove the pcb. Removing the plug is easy, just lift the lock tab slightly and then pull up the hold-down s...

Re: Master 128 Internal Tube/Expansion Pinout
I've mounted mine internally :D 1) Buy a 40way 20cm cable for £2.75 from CPC/Farnell 2) Carefully remove the black plug (noting which way it was fitted) 3) Feed the cable through the gap above the tube socket (it's tight fit so I held it open with a flat screwdiver blade whilst getting the cable whe...

Hi Tricky, tried latest Astroblaster on my Master - detects SWRAM and loads game - but garbled/rolling screen. <SNIP> Obviously in my case we could have another example of a game that my Master has an issue with but ok for everyone else. Well I've just tried it on my Master and it appears to play f...

I don't know about most technically impressive but a couple of my favourites because they looked stunning were Flashback and Zool, Zool especially looked great after it was hacked to have rasterbars in the background 8) Another good one to look out for was AXIS especially if you had an ARM3 and even...

I think this will be worth keeping an eye on . . . Any guesses? Working Acorn Electron with Plus 1 and Plus 3 ......... They say it's working but no pictures to prove it, so my estimate is the absolute minimum it'll go for is £100 and much more likely to make £200 plus. I wish I could justify buyin...

It's more software than hardware, but try Astro blaster. Did you say you had issues with Phoenix? Hi - the last version of Phoenix on RS thread doesn't appear to work on real h/w on Beeb B or Master - but I tried the penultimate one and that was ok on real Beeb B and Master Re Astroblaster - the la...

Re: A working USB - Serial adapter
Interesting that you say the Arc has a 'slow' serial port though, little or no improvement on the Beeb then...? If I remember correctly you could do 19,200 on a Archimedes but 9600 was a lot more reliable. It was only when the Risc PC series came along that we finally got a decent speed serial port...

Re: Page values with DDFS rom
ADFS isn't at fault here; it's a consequence of the architecture. You need to ensure your manager ROM is in the highest priority bank for it to be able to disable things early enough. Yes finally someone understands the problem, ADFS isn't the problem (but some people just like to bash it anyway) y...

Re: Page values with DDFS rom
Ok, so, it turned out to be the ADFS rom. It obviously doesn't release all it's work space when disabled. Don't blame ADFS it's your cr*p Megarom that can't disable a ROM properly, try sticking megarom in a higher priority socket than ADFS and it might work correctly. Well I happen to like...... ar...

Re: Master 128 - obscure video issue?
Well I've just copied Frogger from floppy to MMFS on my Master and then run it from MMFS and it works perfectly, sorry but atleast on my Master MMFS does not cause a problem, so I think we can rule out MMFS as being a factor, surely it must be some hardware/timing fault with jnbeeb's Master.

I read what jnbeeb wrote to mean he had phyically pulled the EPROM from his machine rather than just unplugging it, I maybe wrong. Until jnbeeb pipes up we won't know for sure...Rich Talbot-Watkins wrote: I would try actually physically pulling out the hardware, rather than *UNPLUGing the ROM.

MMFS isn't the issue here, as he says he still gets the corruption when running from floppy with no MMFS fitted.

jbnbeeb wrote:The problem shows without MMFS eprom chip in place when loaded from floppy / DFS 1770 too.
Nope, mine plays it just fineRich Talbot-Watkins wrote:unless all Masters are suffering this problem.

I've rebuilt all the eeprom configuration and programming utilities now to make them compatible with any DFS and the worst-case ADFS where PAGE=$1D00 (ffs ) and I've also embodied a few minor tidying tweaks here and there. The only significant difference is that the EELOAD '@' switch now prog...

It's a python script that allows you to downloads videos from youtube, but the best bit is you can choose both the video format & audio quality you want to save.
