Re: backing up my games?

one that works well is discbeat it runs on original hardware to image protected disc's ( https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=20847&p=301786#p301786 ) Runs best on a 1770 controller according to Scarybeasts you can also find it on github here https://github.com/scarybeasts/misc ...

Re: Dirty WAV - is it possible to fix?

There is some strange sound in that recording I don't be-leave it will ever be readable with the interference that is in there. if a wave has drop out or interference like this the changes are very small you will ever make a working uef from it.

Re: Exmon II 2.02 alternative version

Did not know it supported 65c02 code but then I was trying to use it on a BBC at one time with a 65c02 processor in it but guess that not a normal supported configuration. Would be nice to have a disassembled version of the ROM so that we can see how it all work, would make it easier to see if its p...

Re: Windows 10 reinstall help needed

you best would be to make a bootable install on DVD or a USB stick and reinstall windows 10 from scratch and you can do the wiping of the drive with the install, being a 32Gb you best bet is a compete install don't try a upgrade it will not fit, and it should pick up the key automatically when it co...

Re: Deaf Acorn Electron - Loading Tapes

the Electron Service Manual (section 8.8) suggests the following:- Check the fixed voltage connections to the LM324 (IC 13), pin 4 +5V, pin 11 –5V. To test the cassette output, if the Electron will accept commands then SAVE a program or section of memory ( from the ROM is best) and check that there ...

I hope the filter capacitors have been changed in the power supply as they tend to blow up with lots of smoke with old beebs after a short time of running.

Re: Formatting floppy’s

not all DFS have a build in format program, you need to look by *Help DFS command to see if it has a disc formatter built in or else you need a disc with the format program on, or a utility ROM with it build in, like disc doctor.

if both 6522 are in socket's which they usually are on a BBC there is no problem swapping them over, just careful you don't bend pin's while doing it.

Re: BBC Master clock not running

this is the clock chip circuit, if its not working at all but does store the time date you put in even after a power cycle then I would suspect the oscillator is not running and the 32Khz Crystals are known to fail.

what about using a switch (across C9) on the POR line :- POR (power on reset): On power up, the RC circuit connected to this input provides a +ve edge to reset parts of the ULA, and to cause the ULA to activate the RST line which resets the processor. I have not tried this on an Electron But I do a ...
