Re: Tape CSW files -not working on other sites

I hear the lead-ins are very short on the 1st block and its a hq uef and uses dummy bites which explains the very short lead in as Makeuef ver 2.3 contains the dummy bite block bug see https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=238965#p238958 hopefully one of the days it will get fixed :) typeast...

Re: Games with problems

Hi Mick, I no longer have the original cassette but I believe Dave E (should he be reading) does, so perhaps you could ask him if he'd be willing to create WAVs for Col or Peter Van Ek to look into converting to CSW > UEF. Then we'd need to find a hacker to convert each version to SSD! Certainly ha...

Re: Digital Tape Deck

Thanks for the advice/info, not having programed a nano before so I was a bit nervous to do it as I bought the unit ready made and did not want to destroy it. It was important to use the arduino ver 1.8.4, as the latest version gives an error message when you try to program the unit. I assume its no...

As the one I used has a sp...

Re: Anyone fancy cracking Dracula Island?

looks like that tape image is also not original as the code seems to be tampered with NOP's and RTS
Just curious now what it did have as copy protection? anyone got an untampered version of this tape?

Re: Game software protection list ( Kevin Edwards )

Stryker's Run apart from having encryption to decode the main code does not contain any copy protection as such like most of your other games, the game file had 83 7f added to the file name, but most tape copiers had no problem copying this.

Re: Electron SD Interface & SW Ram Expansion

OOOh a recovery option is always good to have :)
Would it not be an idea to release it as a .uef file as you can always play it back with PlayUEF save having to shunt huge wav files around.

BeebEm Extra CRC Bytes on each tape block

When saving a tape uef from BeebEm it adds 2 extra bytes on the block CRC i.e. Frak loader program end 1st block should be 74 (F4 95) 10 but BeebEm has 74 (F4 95 95 95) 10.
This is not a new bug but a long standing one in BeebEm.
Have also submitted this on GitHub

Re: Digital Tape Deck

TZXDUINO will only work with UEF files and does not support the hq.UEF format, its suppose to be upgraded but who knows when, and also think the UEF files need to be unzipped and the unzipped version renamed to .UEF to work. as already suggested by others PlayUEF (http://www.8bitkick.cc/playuef.html...
