I have a kryoflux which I use, but after asking the same question, Omniflop works fine too if you have a pc with a real floppy interface

Does anyone have any info on the differences between version numbers of the 8200? I have a bunch of them, and the v4.0 models work perfectly, but the v5.1 models just display 'no input' my v4.0 models are various dates, 2011 to 2019, the v5.1 are dated 2019. If you do want to get the kryoflux to attempt to write them, the way to do it is to use the HxC floppy Emulator Software to convert the SSD/DSD into a kryoflux stream, then it'll write that to the disk. It's a bit hit-and-miss in experience!

Cool tip, this also worked perfectly, thanks :)

Re: Isit possible to use my KRYOFLUX to write BBC disks?

I've not managed to get Kryoflux to write BBC discs either. Best way for 3.5" disc is to use OmniFlop on an XP PC with an on-board floppy disk interface. You will need DD discs (with one hole) rather than HD discs (with 2 holes). Well, that did the trick, many thanks :) Got Exile running on re...

Isit possible to use my KRYOFLUX to write BBC disks?

Hi All, I'm about to add a 3.5 floppy drive to my BBC Master, so ideally I need some disks to check it's OK (I know the drive hardware is good as it works flawlessly on my Atari ST) I have a KRYOFLUX and plenty of disks, but the DTC software doesn't seem to 'know' how to write the common *.ssd / dsd...

It's good to see that there really is a working Beeb behind that veil of darkness. :) Could you put together a similar video in Mode 7? I'm more familiar with how that display mode operates than I am with Mode 5 (plus it uses a slightly different set of chips). P.S. The control signal for when (thu...

Re: Completely new to BBC hardware - Master with flashing cursor, no boot

That pattern from pressing A-Z and 1-0 is interesting, alternate characters repeated twice, and then starting again at A 32 locations forward. Those are all powers of two, so that may help indicate what's at fault. When you pressed 'A', did all the 'A's on the screen show up immediately, or after s...
