Re: Writing Games Back To Floppy

Just to report, this seems to work pretty well. A few minor grumbles from Omniflop where I think a different disk format may have been used (Sim City keeps throwing errors) but other than that it works brilliantly. Thank you. I had bother with SimCity too. Oddly, the way I got it to work, was to fo...

Re: Sourcing The Crystal Rainforest

Daniel & Phil, The site licenced version does not seem encumbered. The copy I have is licensed to somebody I know so I am going to have to think about that a bit. Is there somebody here who is actively collecting and archiving RISC OS educational software? I had half a dozen RISC PCs that were give...

Re: Connecting SEGA Mega Drive and Atari controllers to the beeb

Just in case anyone is interested, and doesn’t already know about this. If you download the joystick ROMS from the link I’ll pop at the end, and use the Wizard ROM, either burn it or throw it into sideways ram, whatever your poison is. Then any game you want will be joystick compatible, just enable ...

I really need to move house, we rarely, if ever get a chance at freebies. Or for that matter, some of the awesome bundles of gear at very reasonable prices. All I need is a removal van, some sort of crazy reason to convince the wife and, oh yeah, the sodding impossible ability to find anyone who wil...

Re: Master Space Bar Lugs

To be honest, I think that even if I had the original part, I wouldn't have the skill to fit both at the same time and then persuade each one onto the wire bar, and then lift the space bar over the keyswitch to fit onto it. I suspect that's probably why it's got one missing in the first place, prob...

Tricky, I wish I had even a smidgen of your skill and abilities, your work always impresses me. It's not just things like making these menus and file browsers, no no no. It's your games as well, your versions of Frogger, Space Invades, Phoenix, Centipede, to name just a few, are my favourite version...

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R07 - Arkanoid

I used to love playing this back in the day and I could rack up quite the score - well into the 100,000s. But, and here's a big but, it was too fast for me, so in order to slow it down I used to hold down the pause and unpause keys all the way through. Keeping those two held down (DELETE and COPY i...

Re: RetroClinic DataCentre remake

The DataCentre does have several advantages over Goteks. Off the top of my head: Fast import and export from/to SSD files on a USB stick, a non-volatile RAM drive, and you can even connect a hard drive to it. If you have Beeblink (or various other similar systems) and some Goteks, you can do pretty...

Re: Master Space Bar Lugs

These are the sort of things it would be handy to get dimensions of, obviously for yourself, but also for any forum members in the future who might need them. I could easily rattle a design up and 3D print them - at no cost of course, ridiculously small amount of material to make, whether that’s FDM...

Re: RetroClinic DataCentre.

I missed out on buying the DataCentre, but since Mark has put the DatCentre design files on Github, I was thinking of getting some PCBs made with the SMD chips already fitted. It looks like 3 was the final one. Just note, however, the XC9572 which is what it uses as a CPLD is obsolete - you'll have...

BBC B+ with datacentre on the Facebook for sale group at the momemnt. Buy a datacentre, get a free BBC B+? (it's not my sale) I appreciate the heads-up, though it would involve me breaking my, never use &!$*?@! Facebook rule  Little wonder I didn’t even know there was a BEEB Facebook group.

No worries, I can either do the ROM for you on it’s own, or if you’d rather wait a little and make sure the Facebook offer pans out, just in case I need to do both for you. Either way is fine, just let me know.

I have a Master and a Model B, though due to space constraints at the moment, I’m only using the Master. Once I finally get the office refitted, I’m hoping to have all three BEEBs fired up and have Econet running. Though again it will depend on space as there are, well, quite a few other computers I...

If you don’t have one yet, I’d be happy to print you a bracket, and if you’re in need of a ROM burning, I can do that too.

I wouldn’t ask for anything, there’s only a few pennies worth of plastic involved.

Sooooooo, maybe a stupid question, but what the heck. When these high score challenges start, do you have to join from the first game in the series? Or can you still participate if you’ve missed a few? Play away my friend. If you don't start at the very beginning it just means you won't likely win ...
