Re: ABUG Cambridge 28th - 30th June 2019 BOOKING THREAD - Now FULL

I'm fairly new to this forum so even though I feel like I "know" some of you in some small, online way, I can't actually put a name to any of the faces in these pictures

Enjoy your last day over there!

Ooooh, that was good. When do we get the tech details? :D
Give us a few days to catch up on sleep and we'll get on it. :)
Who needs sleep anyway!

I'm also very interested in the technical details of the demo effects.

Re: Homebrew game for BBC and Electron: "Out of this world" - work in progress

ootw.png Optimized starfield and made it more varied. Added some silly animated aliens. They don't really do much right now. Implemented collision detection between spaceship bullets and aliens. Keys will probably be redefinable at a later stage but right now it's Z, X, K, M for movement, L for fir...

Re: BBC Micro and Acorn Electron demo effects

Thank you Mr B! Let's see. 20 years ago I had already moved on to PCs and my Electron was safely stored away in the loft :D However, 35(!) years ago I played many games on the Electron, tried writing my own games in BASIC and dabbled unsuccessfully in 6502 machine code. Dreaming about creating the t...

Homebrew game for BBC and Electron: "Out of this world" - work in progress

WORK IN PROGRESS. Constructive feedback and ideas are most welcome. No idea in which direction I'm taking this yet. As long as I'm having fun coding it :D Three design goals: 1. It has to work equally well on BBC and Electron 2. It has to be fun 3. And it has to be challenging Oh yeah, I'm calling i...

Re: BBC micro RGB to scart problems (help/ suggestions)

Oh my. Well I drove for an hour to pick up a CRT only to find that there was no remote so there was no way to set it to scart, then I sourced a monitor off my dad, and bought a scart to hdmi upscaler, but now i've set it up I've gone through all the settings and there is no way to adjust the screen...

Re: BEEB Graphics Screen

Those are logical coordinates which get mapped to physical coordinates depending on the screen mode. This way your coordinate system, used by MOVE and PLOT for instance, is independent from the actual screen mode.
