Re: Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

Don't worry, Chris, I need this kind of feedback to fix things that need fixing. =D>
This is very interesting indeed. Thanks for your detailed report. I will look into it myself and let you know what I find.

Re: Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

Plays really nicely - can't believe how smooth the graphics are! What do you know that 80's developers didn't?! Thanks! Honestly, I don't really know. I think it helps that I can use modern tools, have all the information at my finger tips and, most of all, I'm not burdened with a commerc...

Re: 50fps?

Thanks both. Visualisation of this technique: Thanks 0xC0DE, that's really helpful. I can see a way forward now. Could you tell me the meaning of the various colours the background goes to in that video, so I can better understand it? I understand about doing the palette changes on an interrupt, I'...

Re: Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

Wow - excellent playable demo and highly polished, particularly for a work in progress. Nice touches like the rising bubbles to sell the 'underwater' effect. I want to explore more! Is it all going to fit in a regular Beeb/Electron memory? Thanks! Yes, the final game (128 rooms) will work on a bog ...

Re: Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

I have just played the demo, and like everyone else I am very impressed! I love the idea that you can play the three levels in parallel with each other rather than sequentially. My kids tell me that the modern online games they play have this kind of feature, so I can see you're bringing modern gam...

Re: Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

Very good - 3600 points achieved ;) Animation is lovely and smooth with big sprites and no flicker. I like the different locomotion styles between the levels it feels very different. Comments in no particular order Space level might be a little too floaty - if it's going to require precision it mig...

Re: 50fps?

The player sprite in my games (Elementum, Electrobots) moves at 50fps on both Electron and Beeb. I have two interrupts firing each frame. One at scanline 100 (approx) and one at the end of the visible screen. The vertical position of the sprites on the screen determine at which of the 2 interrupts I...

Just noticed this and had a quick play (about an hour!). I would definitely have bought this BITD, it's fantastic and precisely the sort of game I enjoy. Congratulations!

I'll have to download ClockSignal now and try the Elk version!
Cheers! Very nice to hear! 8)

Without any actual Electron disk images, this could simply have been done on a PC.

I would like one, Roland. Being in NL myself, I would like to send you one of my Electrons for a "full service" job. Is that EUR 49, excluding P&P to and from you?
