Out of interest what monitor are you using? Did blue/mode 49 run fine before installing the upgrade?

Re: For Sale: A3020/A4000 & A5000 overclockable RAM

I just tried !blue in high definition mode on my A3010 with ifel 4mb upgrade and I also get a garbage filled screen, so I've been able to reproduce this problem on different hardware. Using multiscan BenQ monitor. Game runs fine in Mode 13. Used ADFFS to mount the ADF image. My machine has never bee...

Re: For sale - A2 Posters: Elite, Zarch, Ravenskull, Codename Droid, Crazee Rider, Palace of Magic, Repton

Finally back from work and able to frame and hang my elite poster in the man cave. Please forgive the colour scheme in the cave... recently reclaimed from it's previous use as a nursery. Where did you get your frame? I'm struggling to find suitable frames for mine locally. I may have to start searc...

Re: RGB Scart adaptor for BenQ monitors

Finally got round to building one of these and giving it a try. Actually works pretty well using a ps2 as a test source. I didn't bother with the sync stripper circuit on the first board since my ps2 rgb scart cable has an integrated sync splitter so I just shorted the jumper on the board to leave t...

Re: RGB Scart adaptor for BenQ monitors

Fantastic info fellas, thanks for this. I'm going to have a go and use an old ps2 as the test source, I have an RGBs cable for it already that has a sync splitter incorporated so therefore I technically don't (think I) need to put a lot of the components on the board and can use the sync splitter by...

Re: RGB Scart adaptor for BenQ monitors

Interesting. I priced up the components per the listed BOM and without delivery from two seperate vendors (digikey and mouser) it's £8.18 and of course the boards are on top of that and no doubt there's a minimum order for the boards. So I would put it in the, "do it for the fun/experience" category...

Re: RGB Scart adaptor for BenQ monitors

Thanks Paul, yes it's a 702a so it's one of the benq monitors that syncs right down to the "tv" frequencies ie will accept mode 15 from archimedes no problem. I hear what you're saying and there is an old scart tv I can get my hands on that would do the job but my idea is to save a bit of space in m...

RGB Scart adaptor for BenQ monitors

So I saw this and it got me thinking: https://twitter.com/Tinkerplunk/status/1143379469866024960?s=19 I have one of those benq multiscan monitors which works great with my A3010 but one limitation is the benq only has a VGA input so not hugely versatile for some other retro kit. There's a lot of sma...

Take a bow Phil, great result. Be gentle with her as she comes out of her coma, probably thinks it's 1992.

Seriously though congratulations, phenomenal effort.

Re: WTD: A3010 4MB upgrade

£4 including packaging and first class uk postage

Edit: soldering these things is not for the faint hearted, and there's not a lot of room between the ICs in particular. If you have a hot air rework station to hand (and solder paste) I would imagine that would be a lot easier

Re: How to write disk images for the A3000 ?

See here... https://forums.jaspp.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=467 Jon's site has the rights for wolfenstein 3D. This is the 32 bit version however so don't know if it'll run on an A3000. I still have my original wolfenstein disks so I imaged them to JFD format files, which work in !ADFFS as men...

Free A3010 2mb ram upgrade

I recently replaced my A3010 2MB ram upgrade with a 4MB board, so the old 2MB upgrade is in the back of a drawer. Will happy post to someone if they have use for it. Re: ADFFS drop down menu issue

The drop down box to the right of the title bar doesn't display directly (it's not very wide) so it's impossible to see the game titles or select them correctly (usually end up with zool when I click in the space). Try updating your Wimp, using the latest System Resources file from ROOL. You could ...

Re: ADFFS drop down menu issue

Ok, haven't been able to fix the drop down menu but a work around is loading the recording file manually by extracting it from within the adffs application and loading it manually by dragging it into the window. Disabling vprotect also helped. If anyone knows how to fix the menu thing let me know bu...

Looking good Martin :D +1 for the bl702a too, I also took delivery of one this week and am very impressed. Was surprised how light it was too, handy for me as don't have the space to leave the arc set up permanently at the moment.

I also liked a previous suggestion on here that applies to any computers containing batteries... storing them upside down long term might be beneficial so that if they leak it's less likely the board would be damaged since gravity would instead direct the nastiness towards the underside of the top o...
