Help fixing an Elk's keyboard

Hi,

My Elk has a missing key (H) and a couple of broken key supports (the white plastic things where the key cap pop in).

Is there any way to repair those?

Re: New Elk platformer - playable demo

This is quite a challenging game! I always feel like I'm going to bump into some bad guy because it's very fast and fluid, so I tend to fall short on the jumps. On the other hand, it works like a charm on the real machine and to me it's the game with the smoothest movement of all Electron games I've...

I'm using a 12V DC PSU from my HP scanner and it runs just dandy with my Electron with Plus 1 and ElkSD64 cartridge.

Re: MMBExplorer released!

Hi Folks!

I just released a small update after realising that the start sector was not recorded properly if over 255, rendering files unusable.

Grab it here: https://github.com/robcfg/retrotools/re ... tag/v1.2.1

Cheers,

Re: Newbie questions: Programming tools and graphics

Hello everyone! Sorry for bringing this thread from the abyss, but I have a question related to the code that resizes the screen. Does that work on an Electron? I managed to test it on my ElkSD64-Plus1 cartridge and noticed that the screen wasn't resized to 256x192. So my question is, can I get a 25...

Re: MMBExplorer released!

Good evening! I managed to implement most of your latest suggestions, so there's a new MMBExplorer release here: https://github.com/robcfg/retrotools/releases/tag/v1.2.0 * Open MMB file if name given as parameter (i.e.: ./MMBExplorer beeb.mmb) * Dropping an MMB file over the program icon on Windows ...

Re: MMBExplorer released!

Thank you all for your kind words! On to your feedback: What I really like is that I can use your tool on the commandline or in batch files. That fits my workflow. I also like command-line tools a lot, because I can just integrate them into a string of processes that are done automatically, like com...

Re: MMBExplorer released!

Hi Dave! I implemented the multiple selection and seems to be working fine. You can also export all selected disks at once to a folder. I'm struggling with the cursor keys though as FLTK uses them both for the table and the disk content, and there are a lot of unwanted interactions. The changes are ...

Ok, the issue with directories and the locked flag has been addressed, and the fix has been pushed to the repository.

I'll take on a couple of suggestions more before releasing new binaries.

Thank you fine people!

MMBExplorer released!

Hello everyone! I recently acquired a ElkSD-Plus1 interface and was looking for tools to create and manipulate MMB files, but all of them seemed pretty old and mostly Windows only. So I took myself to write a tool to do that and that could be compiled on many platforms, and learn new stuff. And that...

Does your board have a place for an external character eprom?

Could the output of the board be routed to vga or hdmi monitors?

I totally understand that, thus my point of having better pictures now that bandwidth is not an issue.

We could even send a broken Electron’s ULA to Sean Riddle for decapping.

Like we did with a PCW gate array: http://www.habisoft.com/pcwwiki/doku.ph ... gate_array

Re: Hardware pictures?

Yes, that would be something along the lines, but the general quality of the pictures is dreadful, and to my taste, they are lacking different revisions of the boards (in case there are, but it is usually the case). I usually scan the boards at 300dpi resolution and do both sides. That allows for cr...

Hardware pictures?

I was wondering if there's any place where to find detailed pictures of BBC hardware. I've been quite busy on the Amstrad CPC, Amstrad PCW and Dragon side of things, and I found that having high quality pictures of the different hardware pieces help cataloguing them, diagnosing problems and inspire ...

Or a 6309, which is a 6809 on steroids!

From our benchmark on the Dragon Archive (see http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3 ... 309#p17017 ), the 6309 is roughly 3 to 4 times faster computing Pi digits.

I had (and still have) a CPC464 bitd and all in all it was quite a balanced machine. And the colour monitor rocks! Regarding Locomotive Basic, I think it’s one if the best dialects I’ve used. Before my CPC, I had an Atari 800XL which I loved (and still do), but Atari Basic was too... well... basic. ...
