Re: Elan Enterprise

Managed to sort it. I noticed that 27512 eproms have 15 address lines and the enterprise socket is only wired upto 14 address lines. Pin 28 is A15 on the eprom and this pin was sc to vcc on the socket. I broke the sc trace on the board and put a wire from pin 28 on the socket to a15 on chip u6 neare...

Re: Elan Enterprise

I'd love to get the enterprise working as more than a wordprocessor. Is it possible to use a 27512 eprom on the motherboard which I could put basic on ?

Re: Elan Enterprise

Hi,

I've just got a Enterprise 64 but no basic cartridge. Do you know where I can get a ROM file with basic included?

Dragon 32 Loading from Mobile Issue

Hi , Has anyone had any success loading software from a mobile phone? I am having a nightmare trying to get this to work. Games load fine from a tape recorder. Its just like I'm back in the 80's messing with volume levels and even tried using a volume booster app. Getting the same with playing a wav...

Beginning to panic a little as I've replaced with a new ic33 and put back the wiring and still getting the screen shot shown previously. Any ideas?

Dragon 32 Ram upgrade issue

I've attempted the standard upgrade detailed here as I have 8 64bit ram chips http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index.php?title=Dragon_32_-_64K_Upgrade but I'm getting this screen. Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong. Tried with ic33 pin 8 GND connected and not connected. Seems strange that thes...

Re: Dragon 32 Rom fault

I've tried programming an eprom as suggested but with no success. Tried the lower half of IC17 and the upper half so I'm thinking maybe its my adapter thats at fault. I'm using a M27128A eprom and have adapted an adapter from this page. I've altered the A14 is VPP on my chip and have not connected t...

Re: Dragon 32 Rom fault

After a bit more research I finally found that IC17 is the standard lower 8k basic rom and ic18 is a dysfunctional upper 8k rom space on the Dragon 32. Strange why this is crashing the dragon though. So I plan to create a DWLoad rom and see what happens.

Dragon 32 Rom fault

Hi,

I've got a stick dragon which I've traced to a fault on ic18. I believe this is a rom chip but don't know what is on it. I can make a replacement using a 27c128 eproms and adapter but what needs to be programmed on it, basic maybe?

Re: Dragon 32 Fault

Turns out touching the crystal to get it to boot wasn't a clue but it did allow me to test the keyboard. I could only get keys h,x,8,0 to work so this was a big clue. Traced the fault to the PIA 6821 IC26. Removed it and socketed then tested in a working machine and got the same fault, no boot up an...

Re: Dragon 32 Fault

Latest update to this issue is that I ended up not socketing and replacing the Ram as I thought I would first try socketing the right most ROM chip as some have said it is a major cause of such symptoms but that didn't help and the ROM was fine. I did however have a major breakthrough with getting t...

Re: Dragon 32 Fault

Hi Phill,

Thanks for the reply.

I've got images of the motherboard issue 5. I currently don't have any 4116 but followed instructions on this page https://atariage.com/forums/topic/25792 ... liability/

I'll socket the ram and order some 4116.

Fingers crossed.

Dragon 32 Fault

Hi, I'm trying to repair Dragon 32 but I'm struggling to find a solution. I'm just getting a blank green screen (attached) and 've tested the -5,+5,12 voltages on the ram which all appear ok. The address pins on the ram all show high and low. I've swapped the cpu , 74LS783, 6847P, ROM IC17 into a wo...
