Did some more testing IC12 (1MHz bus buffer 74LS245) was roasting hot, much hotter than any other chip. So I clipped this out and the whole thing stopped working! Thanks, having gone through the posts it seems the likely cause

Next step is to buy an eprom programmer (been looking for an excuse) and try the test ROM

I wasnt sure where the latest and greatest image is, anyone who could point the way on that would be great

The amounted of detritus that collects in the keyboards is scary. Having a Mac whose keys seems to stop working with one fleck of dust the Beeb keyboards were built to keep going

I was looking for 2 paper style caps. It looks like one 0.1 uF RIFA and a smaller yellow plastic cased cap
I will strip it down tomorrow and check the values
There is an electrolytic C9 that looks the usual one

What always surprised me (a B+ was the second Beeb I owned from launch) is that Acorn designed it to have the daughter board then made it a dogs dinner with the fly wires. I can only assume they didnt expect to sell many :lol:

Well bit of a result Got the green connector off, cleaned up with vinegar Still no boot With a MEMC error decided to check the memory links, low and behold they were set wrong Changed them to 1MB and it boots to supervisor Now waiting for connector and battery to arrive along with some hookup wire :D
