HELP! Copied over my !Boot files when installing OmniBoot

Well I've really done it this time. This is after replacing a non-working motherboard so I could get my RISC PC 600 working again. Being new to all this - seems the golden rule when updating a RISC OS machine with OmniBoot is - NEVER copy over the !Boot files. I think I was tired one night, not read...

Re: Hi, just acquired a Risc PC 600

Ah. I did receive the RISC OS 5 roms. I was thinking they would "better" my system or environment somehow but now I'm aware even using a StrongARM may give me software compatibility problems. Hmph. Now I have a StrongARM and now a RISC OS 5 romset to put onto ebay. Thinking of getting a Raspberry Pi...

Re: POLL: Kickstarter project - Hero: The Realm

Here's a better quality video I recorded of gameplay - running at 60fps.

Hero: The Realm WINDOWS 10 Gameplay

I hope to evoke a lot more action and effects in this simple but playable platformer.

Re: Hi, just acquired a Risc PC 600

That will give you ethernet. I've found cheaper! http://www.riscos.com/shop/products/109/index.php Once that's on there you can use !FTPc to move files across: http://www.riscos.info/index.php/FTPc If you want to use something a bit memorysticky, as I said it'll read PC format discs, but you can go...

RESOLVED then: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14631#p198284

Thanks danielj. Purchased the NIC interface to Ethernet!

I'm presently surviving on formatting floppies. That won't help with everything though.

Re: Hi, just acquired an A600 Archimedes.

best way to get things on and off an RPC600 is via Ethernet - check if it has a card! Otherwise, it will happily read/write PC format discs :) e.g. http://www.cjemicros.co.uk/micros/individual/newprodpages/prodinfo.php?prodcode=VAR-2TNICSH I'm not finding much cheaper at the moment :? d. Risc PC 600 suitable SD-Card interface

Hi, I know RISC OS can be lacking in which sd cards it uses. However does anyone know the sd card interface best suited to a Risc PC 600? Back entry is preferred as I've 2 slots in the left-center of the machine (as you look from the back). Any help here please? Also if you could let me know which S...

ROUGOL at London Bridge 19th March 2018

It was rather great meeting everyone. The emphasis of this meet was about Game Development with a Design edge. I showcased Hero: The Realm and my development plan with a presentation. This was the presentation I gave, it lacks technical prowess - I did ramble a lot of this at the User Group meeting....

Re: Acorn Computers square ICO(s) for common usage on Windows

Yes. I'm aware of that. But I needed an attachments link for the RISC OS OPEN forum. I got confuddled with windows doing both forums at the same time, posting. It got cached in my broswer so I used the link quite stupidly. :!: Acorn-computers-square-icons-on-desktop-14032018.jpg Just now: I think th...

Acorn Computers square ICO(s) for common usage on Windows

Hi all. As a creative designer (graphics, media) I've developed myself some nice icons for Windows PC usage. One icon version black Acorn text, one has white as an alternative. You can find them easily them by placing in System32 folder of Windows. C:\Windows\System32\ You can change a folder or sho...

Re: ADFFS 2.64 public beta

Great. Thanks for activating my account!

As for the bug/virus, it occurred when installing the ADFFS program. I retried many times. I suspect now it was a bad ADF, as I said.

Sorry if I created a kerfuffle!

Thanks.

Re: ADFFS 2.64 public beta

I'm afraid to install the public ADFFS 2.64 and I haven't had any virus warning since, even using 3rd party ADF sites as before to test.

Again not 100% about it but - perhaps it's worth scanning the uploaded file on your server.

I'm running RISC OS 3.7 on a RISC PC 600.

Hi. I can't access your forum just yet, there is an error accessing my mails but I write this to you here. I've noticed there is a virus warning every time I install official ADFFS 2.64, not the beta. I've taken it off my RISC PC, reset the machine and reinstalled three times over. The warning is so...

Formatting a DOS 1.44M disk under Windows10 for RISC PC with an external USB drive

Usual methods won't work but if I format a disk at the command line with Windows 10 and a cheap external usb floppy drive - I can load files to the RISC PC. This was simple with a tutorial on Windows FORMAT command. If you have typical problems formatting an Archimedes compatible 1.44M DOS disk you ...

Re: POLL: Kickstarter project - Hero: The Realm

So, you've set yourself a very difficult task with this poll. The reason I say this is because, though I voted not interested, it's not entirely true. I have an A3010 and am unsure if you will consider that as one of the machines your program will run on and I see no purpose for DRM. This community...

Moreover, sorry to be blunt but: The sad truth is that most games are mediocre and not worth playing. There needs to be some good reason to bother trying a game, even for free. @richardtoohey The POLL isn't really intended for 8-bit users. @z0m8ied0g Yes, the digital copy would have a special type of DRM alike Spheres Of Chaos recent port. Omniflop: Acorn adf to floppy image writer in Windows

Re: Hi, just acquired an A600 Archimedes.

Thanks. That's great, but how will I know if I have an ethernet card? Temporary solution would be a USB external floppy disk drive. I hope I can get that and blank discs at Maplins tomorrow. Additional: The RISC PC started fouling up on video, so I turned off and left it for a while. Next time I tri...
