Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

Gonna have to find a spare elk soon I think. Don’t wanna take the 64k/turbo one back to standard for ULA so defo need another one. Plus I have a spare plus 1 as well. If buying an elk specifically with view for it being for the UltraULA is there any issue that is preferable? Or any issue circuitboa...

Re: Acorn Elk usb floppy disk drive

I reckon in your case either plus 1 and SD cartridge or plus one, disk interface and cheap gotek is gonna be the cheapest options to get some useful storage to get using the machine. There is a version of SD thing doesn’t even need a plus1 so that’s maybe a potential way in without too much money an...

Re: Redesign Electron Plus1

I guess case costs. Plus 1 is fairly common and enough about to get hold of em so best base for a reworking of upgrade that has cartridge slots. Plus 3 is too rare and expensive. A gotek would be cool or beeb scsi micro SD. Even just an SD slot of some sort would be handy (not most Compatible but go...

Re: Redesign Electron Plus1

would be good Roland, and as Simon said, what is a printer :? what is the story for plus2 ??? never seen a plus 2 ?? you have now  none made by Acorn, but Slogger made the Plus2, but they don't have housing. Slogger Plus 2 I believe was same/similar to the RomBox plus so assume that ca...

Welcome to the Acorn fraternity and the madhouse called stardot. Great wee group with vast knowledge I am sure you’ll enjoy your stay Recommend a plus 1 for elk as it gives you access to some nice extra hardware like SD cartridge, mega games cartridge, disk interfaces, ap5 (which has tube, user port...

Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

That’s a damn shame but I guess it’s all progress and something like this isn’t gonna come to fruition without solving a few funnies like this.

Hopefully it doesn’t prove too hard to solve so keyboard works nicely on all elks.

A gotek, SD user port, beebscsi or similar will be a good friend to anyone wanting to enjoy some 8-bit gaming fun on bbc. Means you can have a massive library of games and other software at your fingertips.

Great, was gonna fit my pi internally in master but decided as want to get an AP5 I’d like it to be able to be used on master and elk. Though may go back to internal on master at some point. So been thinking fitting the internal pi board in one of these cases would be ideal. That is as long as no ob...

Prodest 128 isn’t a clone. Olivetti owned (or had majority stake) acorn (to bail them out) so it was a master compact rather than being a clone of one. Obv just with an OS rom specifically for the Olivetti machine.
