Re: New Acorn 8bit? Should there be one?

I think although we can achieve a lot with upgrades. The number of people with them all is quite low and there are a lot of people who would possibly buy a new 8bit beeb for nostalgia. Ones who aren’t in the forum and currently don’t have a machine. Add them to the guys who are into 8bit already and...

Inspect and reseat the ULA and inspect closely for loose/broken pins on socket. Check that your getting voltage coming out of psu as well.

Re: Acorn AKA20 We32206 Floating Point Co-Processor

I imagine the best cpu for the x86 card for FPU in RISC pc would be the Cyrix 5x86 (if you can find a Cyrix or ibm version capable of running at 133Mhx) the FPU should be noticeably faster than 160Mhz AMD

Call me crazy, but......

Surely the ending text is missing from Elk version ?

After checking you've got 10 Simarils (at &22A9), the game jumps to &0D00 to display the finishing text. On my version at least, there's nothing at &0D00

Not a huge issue being it can’t be completed rofl

Ps the BBC version is playable. I got the carrot and got the rabbit out way and though I don’t think I completed it as only had weekend I got a good bit past that but. You can’t get carrot on elk the 4 screen isn’t passable. Other screens on bbc v elk I don’t remember being much easier/harder just t...

Re: Sim...A rip of or not...

Posted in here a few times about this. The electron version has a bug where the screen with the three channel 4 logo things timing compared to you means there is no possible way to get past that screen on the elk. I played that game for months and months and eventually when my grandad brought a bbc ...

Re: Raspberry Pi to 1MHz bus interface

I don't see why not - as I mentioned on the other thread, I'm pretty sure that some people have accessed the Pi's ethernet interface using bare metal. It might even be possible via the Tube Pi. Wasn’t sure about tube pi cos thought it could get pretty maxed out with say doom running in tube. Hence ...

Ok, admittedly this may be stupid so don’t shoot me, Posted on doom thread asking if sound was working. Anyway it wasn’t but happened to mention he had a sprow Ethernet card for his master and was gonna look at sound and networking. This got me thinking.... not that many people will have a sprow Eth...

Talking if that I wonder if 1mhz Pi could service Ethernet requirements....

Only thinking as not so many people have Ethernet or don’t have a master so not even an option or econet already populated.
