Re: Beeb FPGA port to Spectrum Next

The easiest path to super fast (and flexible) second processors on the Next is, I think, likely to be using PiTubeDirect or something very similar. A likely future project, I think. you mean pitube inside the fpga chip ? This hot what hoglet has already done? https://github.com/hoglet67/BeebFpga/wi...

Re: Pi-based Co-Pro on the cheap - 100MHz 6502 for £10? (now 274MHz)

A dispute has arrisen in certain z80 quarters, which can be summarised.... I think a tube-like interface would actually slow down the pi considerably while it waits for the z80 to respond since the volume of data from much faster processor goes up. I think the tube interface makes more sense when th...

I think a tube-like interface would actually slow down the pi considerably while it waits for the z80 to respond since the volume of data from much faster processor goes up. seems they think there is some sort of bottle neck, inherrent in the design? might have to ask this on the tube thread......

Re: ZX Spectrum next... Anybody backing ?

am troubled in my waters.... some of the leading devs on the next are rejecting the copro idea, which is a bit disturbing. think the tube interface makes more sense when the relative processing power of the native 6502 and the co-processor are not too far apart. Then the co-processor is not being io...

Re: Do we need more ABug meets? If so, where should they be?

IF its helpful, I can prob get some free space at one of the unis in York.

However, this would have to be a general retro meet, which means rubbing shoulders with speccy fans.....you might get infected with something!

IF you want me to pursue this, then drop me a pm.

Re: New ZX Spectrum emulator

what its really NEEDS at this point in time, is an instruction manual on how to use copros.

Speccy coders dont have a clue how to get the advantages out of the copro system. The beeb community are failing on this one.

Get out of your ivory towers and educate the masses!

progress is slow and steady on getting this to the making stage. It has been hindered by inability to draw! and hence get things into cad. Re: airship design

we have an initial design for using a vacuum chamber to give lift above 27km alt. sadly no real way to test this, until the craft is built....the vacuum cant be created below 25km as it would implode. The big question is.... it light enough to be worth bothering with? ok it could double the altitude...
