Re: High Score Challenge S12 - R6 - Wet Zone

This game is way too fast for me, my brain can't keep track of all the enemies and bullets to dodge them all, it's just random moving about whilst firing continuously and hoping I don't hit in to anything

Just in the nick of time.

2nd go, used to play this all the time on my phone a few years back, although I'm sure in this version the probability of a 4 appearing rather than a 2 is much higher than it was on my phone. Shame you can't carry on above 2048.

Mine too - I thought with a few evenings' practise I could get something reasonable, but I haven't got to triple digits yet! 151850 Finally got past that nasty corner on level 12 after only the 2nd or 3rd life, so had plenty left for the invisible levels. Got to level 17 and then just ran out of fuel though by using the shield too much. I think if I tried to save more fuel throughout all the earlier levels I could go furt...

Well done! I haven't had chance to try again yet. How do the invisible levels work, do you have to memorise the layout or what?

A bit better, but still unable to get past level 12 ... 108,750 Yep, it's that narrow right turn for me, just after you get back through the gate with the orb. There's not enough space to go through carefully and slowly, I think you need to swing the orb through, but I lack the control skills to do...

Not sure if we're talking about the same level, but to me this looks near impossible to hit the reactor (this is the version in the link at the top of this thread).

A little bit better but I can't get the hang of reverse gravity at all. I don't even try to get the orbs. Ah yes I forgot you can just blow up the reactor, I might have to try that on level 11 so that I've got more lives for level 12 where (IIRC) the reactor is impossible to shoot. Never got this f...

Re: High Score Challenge S12 - R3 - Thrust

I lost 10 lives in a row trying to get out of the gate at the bottom of level 11. Once I got past the narrow bit just after the gate it was easy to get out in comparison. So that left me with just 2 lives for level 12, I got to the bottom, but then couldn't get back out past the pointy gate. Also I ...

Starter for me! Got stuck at the bottom of round 2 level 4 trying to open the door with the thingy attached, lost most of my lives in there. Also when I started a new game back in level 1 I kept hitting the ground until my brain readjusted.

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

OK bit of an update, haven't had too much time. The IDEFS module generates the "Bad drive" error because the number of sectors per track is too high. My mechanical drive gives 38, yet the pi-formatted SD card gives 216. The module checks against 128 and errors if it's higher. But, the number of head...

OK, a lot of hassle later I managed to get !IDEForm onto the machine. Been reading up in th...

OK good new and bad news. Good news I found my copy of !IDEForm on my windows machine, luckily I had backed up a load of floppies a long time ago and it was in one of the disc images. Bad news, my serial link only seems to work one way (PC->A3010), I'm sure it worked in the past. So I can't get !IDE...

Yes I've tried formatting the card in the Pi as per the first post instructions, and it works in the Pi fine. But the fact I'm not even getting a "Disc error" or "Unformatted" type error, but instead a "Bad drive" error makes me think that IDEFS is not even attempting to look at the card for whateve...

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

If anyone could point me a link to a specific IDE-SD/CF adaptor and exact SD/CF card that they know works, then I'll buy those at least to know for sure it's something dodgy with my IDE interface. I've tried 3 different cables (including a brand new one) so I'm fairly sure it's not that.
