I have it working on a Master and a Beeb B... except its not as pretty as teletext.
There's something I'm missing I think.

Also, It is worth checking the -5v rail.
One of my beebs is very quiet and the -5v rail filter is letting chopped DC through.

Re: Corroded components on BBC B Motherboard

I'm guessing that when something's this badly damaged it's likely to be a write-off? I've just gone through the exact same process with one of these boards. It looked bad but, after carefully removing the battery and processor I managed to clean the PCB ( neutralised with white vinegar - look elsew...

Re: Worth Taking a Look At

Its totally disappeared from any history, normally it tells you its been pulled or something but the entire listing has disappeared as if it never existed.
I have also been the victim of this several times recently... only to see them pop back up a few days later.
With a higher price

What the hell, I was the high bidder with 4 minutes to go then its just dissapeared without trace.
'They' blame rogue ebay users....
But sometimes I get the feeling the seller pulls the auction at the last minute if the price is too low...

Re: (Yet another) Memory Question

The dead bits show up as vertical lines in the diagonal sequence. Put it in 16k mode ( S25 ) south. This will let you see the upper 16k block. Run Tricky's test OS ROM.... Let it cycle through.. Take some quality close up photos of the right hand side of the screen, when the diagonal test is running...

I only get the vertical bars on both the working and faulty systems
That is strange because if the ROM is working correctly you would see it operate correctly on a working system.
You can test the image in Beebem to see the correct sequence.

Re: (Yet another) Memory Question

Looks to me like there is a major issue...
The first screen, if the CPU is running, is a mode 7 Frogger screen with some audio and front LED pulsing.
So theres either something off with the clock or the CPU...
I'd go for swapping the CPU for a known good one and try the test ROM again.

Re: Multi-purpose podule with a Raspberry Pi

the PiPOD falls into the "completely pointless" category for me. It's essentially the equivalent of buying a sports car and then supergluing it to the inside of a truck.

That is the impression I had also

Thanks for the explanation phlamethrower.
