Re: Sound Out

VGM export for an emulator is jolly good, but it doesn't really help me get things from a 2DD floppy
disc where I havew saved my work from my BBC Master.

Sound Out

I am currently messing around with Music on my BBC Master Compact,
and, while I can save it on a floppy disk I cannot think of a way to
export it in some sort of meaningful format to use elsewhere, or, for that matter, just
capture the sound onto a cassette recorder.

Re: Using BBC BASIC to teach programming concepts in 2017

Personally I can't see the attraction of teaching 1980s-vintage BBC BASIC Possibly because you, also, cannot see the attraction of teaching very, very simple things using BBC BASIC on Model B' and emulators to children in a country where what constitutes computer programming means: 1. Nothing in 90...

Re: Monitors

You definitely need something to convert the signal.
Notwithstanding that, I shall still send Amazon.co.uk a distinctly negative feedback note re those cables.

Ha, ha, ha; Amazon would not publish my review, presumably because I stated that I had been cheated.

Are you sure they are for 625-lines (PAL) rather than 525-lines (NTSC)? To be honest I'm not sure if they are anything: Connected to the Yellow & White Output sockets of a television that can manage PAL, SECAM & NTSC I get NO signal on my VGA monitor. BUT that is probably because I ordered 3RCA to ...

OK: I went to the System Prefs. thingy in Mac OS 10.7.5 and turned off all the F-keys mods.

Now I'm up queer street as the '=' (among others) key does not line up with the '=' on the Macintosh keyboard.

Re: BeebEm now in WebAssembly (in-browser)

I have about 12 Macintosh keyboards of various vintages to hand and I cannot work
out what you mean by "fn".

I normally use a 2001 iMac keyboard that has 15 F keys, and sometimes I use
a 2010 keyboard that has 16 F keys.

Neither of these has anything marked "fn".

Not as far as I know.

As far as I can tell that machine is a "plain vanilla" model I bought from eBay last Summer.
