Some alternatives to try can be downloaded from here, I recommend RiscBBS.

I need !65Host to access an old teletext software I use to run whilst at college. We ran it on networked BBC Micros and networked A5000 using !65Host.
Hi, what is the name of the software that you are trying to get working, it isn't Octave is it?

It is too large to upload here, I assume, as I get the error "Failed to move uploaded file." but I have a hi-res version at 48MB and a low-res version at 10MB. I have PM'd you a link.

Re: Econet Micro Guide by Christopher Dawkins

I've not managed to find a copy anywhere to scan.

When I was hunting for other Econet things, I did get a copy of "Networking with the BBC Microcomputer" by R.G.Napier which I have a scan of. It is a little too large to upload here at 9.5MB, even as a web optimised PDF. :-(

I would be interested in a mini archiving meetup;
Wow, that would be very nice, if someday Archimedes LISP could be archived this way! In any case, thank you :D
No worries, I've got a Kryoflux, so certainly happy to help in a new archiving thread for a volunteer session.

Perhaps if an individial or group of people local to Cambridge were to approach the museum with regards to arranging a mini archiving meetup, I'm sure it's something they'd consider if a comprehensive list of desired items could be provided at the same time. You wouldn't necessarily need to wait fo...

I have used 1password for 10 years approx. Held off going to subscription model. Was the best (on Mac) 10 years ago and stuck with it. "ditto" Also, new users don't have to go to the subscription model, you can still purchase the perpetual license. Now with over 300 passwords stored, I cannot do wi...

With an image of the unix filesystem, does anyone know if any of the current Acorn Risc OS emulators for Mac or Windows would support RISCiX in emulation?

Absolutely, I've used these before and soldered a power molex to the two through hole vias on the board.

I believe that error is when system variables expand and the line being executed extends beyond 255 characters. Are there lots of files being added, do you have a long drive name, etc?

No worries, I have some macros for splitting pages which makes things easier. I need to learn more about the OCR function in Adobe PDF, some quick Google searches show the same problem. Using clearscan does not do any better, if anything, the fonts are more washed out.

Re: Acornsoft Pascal Disc image

Well spotted, it does look like the OCR engine in Adobe PDF cannot read parts of the text. I've just run the large TIFF image through the OCR, and I get the same result. The BOLD text in the headings and listings seem to work fine. There may be some pre-processing which can be done to improve the OC...

Re: Acornsoft Pascal Disc image

Reordered, re-numbered, OCR'd, PDF/A, and attached. Re-touching would have taken too much time due to the bleed through of text, not your fault, just the cheapo thin paper! :-( Edit: Um, I get the error "Failed to move uploaded file." when adding as an attachment, I'll upload to Dropbox. https://www...
