Re: Remarkable videos recently posted on Youtube

That crash sounds an awful lot like the first program on the Electron's intro tape, so yes, I'd say it can.

Here it is! https://youtu.be/TfS7kr3cwMs?t=23

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

OK, so here's an SSD with a BASIC program "OSWREAD" which is what I've been using to demonstrate this issue: https://github.com/chrisa/BeebSCSI/raw/keep-luns-open/BeebSCSI_AVR/BeebSCSI_AVR/test/oswread.ssd It should be enough to just put the QuickStart SD image on a card, then load up that SSD and r...

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

I'll try to get some detailed steps sorted out, but the slowdown I've been seeing using BeebMaster's BASIC benchmark appears to be related to the sector offset within one SCSI LUN, not the offset of the LUN data file within the FAT filesystem on the SD card. It should be possible to reproduce this p...

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

Well, I got the new Class 10 SD cards, and things looked much the same. I didn't do any timing but the slowdown is still obvious. However, the BeebSCSI_AVR source code is extremely clear, and I was able to dig in and take a look around really easily - nice work! The thing that jumps out to me, think...

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

OK, I upgraded to the latest release firmware with no issues, and it reports itself as: Oct 09 22:06:12.595016 Oct 09 22:06:12.595238 BeebSCSI - Acorn SCSI-1 Emulation Oct 09 22:06:12.595339 Oct 09 22:06:12.595425 (c)2018 Simon Inns Oct 09 22:06:12.595511 https://www.domesday86.com Oct 09 22:06:12.6...

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

OK, great, thanks - I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I won't need to take up danielj's kind offer!

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

Ah, sorry! Exactly the same as in long access times only, I am not seeing any 2C disc errors, no errors at all in fact. I'll upgrade to the latest release firmware when I get a chance. A question on the firmware updates from SD card though: is it possible to recover from a "bad" firmware update via ...

Re: BeebSCSI 7_7

I'm seeing exactly the same problem, in the same way both on a Master and on a Model B. I actually first noticed it trying to initialise the Level 3 File Server software on the Master - it was taking a really long time, but I had to give up after an hour or so and then found this thread! I've got a ...

Re: Possible BBC B Econet Upgrade Kit

My eBay cart is currently full of my attempts to put together upgrades for my two Model Bs, so I'd definitely be interested in a couple of kits if and when they're available!

I wouldn't be able to commit to finding the time to do one within a week though, unfortunately.
