Re: Acorn Art Thread

I missed the recent Twitch of Art4Eva which I thought was brilliant! But after watching it I wanted to create a beginners guide for anyone interested in how some the tools work and can be used. If anyone has any specific questions or suggestions for improvement please do not hesitate to reach out. L...

Re: Frak! - PC style for testing (Private invite to regular HSC competitors only)

Speed bonus on Read & Weep, had to switch to Zero difficulty as the baddies are too random for a speed run. Constructive criticisms if I may, please read with a grain of salt... The controls, I feel like I'm constantly fighting the controls rather than the level, especially the down action. It feels...

Re: The best version of Chess that runs on a model B

I will take notes of all moves and include them in all the posts. Would anybody be interested in seeing this? NB, all this will be on real original hardware, no emulators will be used by me. This would be a great subject to follow =D> If using an emulator you could at least reduce the huge wait tim...

What operating system are you using FS?
Windows 7 Ed :?:

Looks like others are also getting the error now, from the error descriptions it seems to be achievement related.

I am hoping to have a play with this soon, being on the other side of the planet means I am at work right now, the good thing is it sounds like most of the bugs will be ironed out before I can even play  Frak was a school lunchtime favourite for me BITD so very much looking forward to playing i...

Wow! Have been following this thread keenly and really impressed at how great it looks and plays =D>

Only bugs I noticed are the lines on the energisers when the red ghost reversed over one and the half dots around.

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - Champ - Psycastria

I managed to get to Level 2 - it can be done , but I got a worse score . My highest score was from being on level 1 only and losing all 3 lives on there . I feel your pain, I had a blast yesterday and managed to get through level 1 on my first life, then managed to lose the rest of my lives in quic...

My main defense if enemy ships are visible is do the old left right left until they disappear, doesn't help if they're on the same y axis though  [-o<

In theory I have managed to get all the pods but never in a single round, so I go round and round level 1 trying to maximise points. The map is hard enough to navigate but the random shooting ships are what has me swearing the most [-X ](*,) :-#

Re: Teletext paint program

Posted an update on GIT, I'm trying to get a grid based capture working, there is still a small frame drift issue I am trying to track down but it works well enough for the time being for testing. It's mostly working for my running man animation but I haven't tested out any other animations. The imp...

Re: High Score Challenge S14 - R09 - Chip Buster

I've played it just enough to know how to get to each area but not always knowing where a certain area is. So, you have helped solve that problem with this diagram. Looks like it came out of the service manual, is that correct? I'd been searching for something on and off for a few days and found it...

Re: Teletext paint program

I've added a rudimentary bmp / frame import function in TelePaint, due to the way BBC Basic handles reading pixels from the screen it can be slow for large selections, latest version available on GIT. Example of how to import multiple frames: 1. Select the amount of frames you want to work with and ...

A rough example of a new import utility in Telepaint.

EDIT: I think the artifacts are from the GIF conversion, these won't be present in TelePaint when creating images.

Did a little test with 16 frames, we're only limited by memory so would be interesting to see what could be done with more frames thrown in.
