Or how about Tricky's Sega Lightgun. You could shoot the code onto the screen (well on a real Beeb with a CRT anyway).

Re: Acorn Art Thread

Bullet train is totally wicked, nice use of colour cycling =D> EDIT: I need to update ART to use some of the standard colours for colour cycling by defining which are drawing and which can cycle... will have a think about that. Also a colour redefine function to reassign colours would also be useful...

Re: Hmm.. was there ever an 8" floppy drive for the BBC?

Our econet server had two 8 inch drives, one for the OS and one for data mounted vertically along with the other logic components in a largish metal case.

No other details and I wish I'd stayed in contact with the teacher in case there was a chance to snap up some of the kit when it was replaced :-k

I try and use WASD and Enter for most games but some games don't like that combo so I revert to ZX /" Enter

Re: Hello from a long-time Acorn User

Welcome officially to the forum! I grew up in Melbourne and was still playing games on a Master around 1990, I wonder if you worked at one of the stores I used to go to, if I recall correctly I went to a store in Scoresby and another in South Melbourne. I love to read about everyone's Acorn experien...

Re: High Score Challenge S12 - R2 - Fortress

One way of getting through those barriers is to fire your guns while flying. when the bullets go through the gap, you're at the right level. Been trying this approach but everything is happening so fast there's just no room for error. Another way I've had limited success with is to fly to the highe...

Re: Assembly on the BBC Micro

Welcome to the forum! Machine code can run alongside Basic and you can even write and compile and run MC within a basic program. MC programs won't interfere with Basic as long as they are careful about what memory locations are utilised. In saying that, advanced MC program can take over control from...

Re: Help decoding a file

Seems the colour codes all have top bit set and the rest of the data has the top two bits stripped off ; C0 - 11000000

Not sure of significance but thought it might be useful, if I get a chance I'll have a closer look :-k

They're probably reusing top two bits for special codes including colours.

Model B ROM Board

Hi All, I've gotten a few of my beebs out for restoration and on the following specimen there is a ROM board that is directly attached to the 6502. I haven't yet powered up the beeb as I am planning to replace caps in the PSU, however, I am interested to know a bit more about the attached ROM board ...
