Re: variable volume for the BBC

To resurrect this thread, I was wondering if someone could perform this mod on my BBC? I have zero experience soldering or the like , but would prefer either a variable volume, or to set it up to output via phono to my amp ? If anyone knows someone up in / around Edinburgh at all , that I could poss...

Re: Storing & Protecting hardware

Hi

Thanks for this, the one I did not know of was the PVC plastic migration. So that's a great pointer indeed, and everything else gives me guidance on how best to pack and indeed label :)

Storing & Protecting hardware

I was wondering for my spare Electrons and peripheral hardware, the best way to store them. I've been wondering about a flightcase similar to https://www.amazon.co.uk/Accu-Case-Universal-Transportation-Accessories/dp/B0077MD7U4/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3TXM09COTFMCT&keywords=flightcases&qid=1552832313&s=gate...

I'd like to attend likely Saturday only, but would appreciate some guidance please ? I would very much like to bring my BBC model B, bought from Retroclinic, if there is someone attending who can both sell me and install a VideoNULA if possible? I would also be collecting all things going well an Ac...

Re: Proposal: ABUG London and International

I know it's maybe not the same as a dedicated meet, but would it be a consideration to take some table space at the likes of Play Expo? The organiser also has a big film and tv event held in the Olympia over 3 days in July, where there is a retro area. They usually have some basic machines of variou...

Re: Some Electron related repairs and upgrades for gebes

:D I've ordered both types of power supply now, as I will keep one for just the Electron I'm using now, and the other for the Electron with the expansions. I'll post photos soon showing it all singing Dave's praises for all his work in restoring my various elks to working order. Indeed, thanks also ...

Re: Some Electron related repairs and upgrades for gebes

I'd posted in the other thread as had searched for Electron power supply and didn't check the forum section I was posting in... With my Amigas, I have a custom built PSU, as I believed there was no point refurbishing the computer and using a potentially dodgy power source. So had wondered if anyone ...

Re: Some Electron related repairs and upgrades for gebes

This is awesome Dave, I've been extensively using the one you sent back. The video / audio mod is so much better , can run everything through my AV cinema amplifier. As a replacement power supply source , is this suitable ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Selectec-Universal-Notebook-Charger-Adapter/dp/B014...

Re: Mega Games Cartridge for the Electron

If there's games not on the list, does this mean they're not available for the cartridge for whatever reason ? I was wondering about the later Repton games Around the world, Thru time and Life of Repton.

Re: What is the average age on here??

I'm 42, Acorn Electron was the first computer I owned all those years ago when parents got it, have had other computers such as Amigas ( still got them as well ) consoles, Macs, Windows over the years, but while the Acorn went unused for a time, could never part with it.
