Re: ABUG Cambridge 28th - 30th June 2019 BOOKING THREAD - NOW FULL

I am beginning to think about stuff to bring. I could setup the Tube Bad Apple demo if anyone wants to see it - although most ABUG regulars will have done so already. I bought an Acorn branded twin double sided 80T (not 40/80) floppy drive a while back as faulty meaning to repair one drive and fit a...

Re: Fixed: Enhanced Exile + TurboMMC compatibility? (patched Exile)

No sorry I can't remember. I think I looked in a disassembly (Tom's?) for user port writes or maybe searched for the romsel to find the code. I then just patched the SSD directly with a hex editor on the PC.

I set it up again and tried a 2MHz triangle wave for pretty terrible case rise fall times. Works fine (threshold crossing glitches as expected) with your original PLD source.

Re: ATF22V10C vs GAL22V10D

To be honest, I'm not sure how to go about selecting the correct mode. I assumed WinCUPL did this automatically, based on the equations. C:\Wincupl\WinCupl\AtmelHlp\Devhelp.pdf has all the mnemonics for the devices. Looks like there is only one for 22V10 I must have confused it with 16V8... Try set...

Re: ATF22V10C vs GAL22V10D

Are you using WinCUPL for the ATMEL compilation? It churns out a whole bunch of debug info including all the product equations - maybe there is a hint there. Have you selected the correct mode too simple/registered/complex? Global OE enabled? Pin OE not enabled? I use The 22V10C and CQZ in things I ...

Re: ROM Cartridge ?

I picked some up on eBay for a fair price but I watched for them for 18 months or so until there were some I was willing to pay for. I paid less than a tenner each for two Master carts which I thought was fair. £30-35 each is too much IMO.

Re: B+ DFS & ADFS versions for PAGE E00

It does work with BeebSCSI but there is a downside. A bunch of commands are missing like *DESTROY and there is no help. So I end up using ADFS 1.30 a lot of the time anyway.

One question. Is it possible to copy from BLFS to disk? I tried switching to DFS and then back (using *BLFS) and it didn't seem to sync. when I issued a ctrl+B+break, it reported it couldn't sync. A restart of the server fixed this, so it could be coincidence. I don't know about the server sync pro...

Re: What has happened to Firefox add-ons?

We'll see. Not everything on the internet is true  They might be motivated to fix it because there are still a lot of XP installs and they just upset the majority of the FF userbase. I am already annoyed by the ever increasing bloat of FF & I am not alone. It won't take much for lots of users...

Re: Stunt Car Racer for BBC Master

I just tried Stunt Car Racer on my Amiga 1200 and yeah it has more colours but the frame rate is pretty rubbish. I can confirm it doesn't have an accelerate button only the boost. There is normal brakes and boost brakes too (which make flames and use boost up). So that must have been removed in the ...

The instructions tell you how to install it on 64 bit windows - since that file predates 64 bit windows as we know it now. You don't run the MS installer but must unzip the file and copy it according to the instructions. I did it a few days ago on my newer laptop and the instructions do work.

I don't think RLOAD has the same syntax as SRLOAD. No address is needed.

Code: Select all

*RLOAD <rom filename> <slot>
works for me.

Re: Add switch to dual drives to allow booting from either/or?

@AndyF Goteks are only £12 delivered from eBay and it is a simple hobby project to add the rotary control and text display. Since 3.5" drives are half the height of a 5.25" drive with a double drive 3.5" to 5.25" adapter then you can fit all three (3.5" floppy, 5.25" floppy, 3.5" gotek) all in the e...
