Re: Micro Adventure

I've mentioned the game again on Twitter and it's getting loads of interest and very nice comments, particularly about the graphics. Chrome is blocking the download off rucksack games  I can confirm that I had that issue too. I just used Edge to download it instead. You may be able to get ar...

So the differences over Les Howarth's original are things like... * Bespoke graphics for every location. * Very basic music and sound effects. * Extended location descriptions and item descriptions. * Some minor bug fixes from the original type-in code. * Additional Loader screen and in-game Titlesc...

Re: Acorn Electron demo effects

Thank you! if you can just get the Electron ULA to play a decent tune Now there's a challenge! Has anybody ever gotten a decent tune out of the Electron's speaker? (any particular game with an outstanding tune I should check out for example?) The Electron has had some ok tune-age....

I'm getting together my first 'Type In Basic Series'. For me I'd say on the Electron....
Twin Kingdom Valley
The Lost Crystal
Wheel of Fortune
Village of Lost Souls
Rick Hanson (trilogy)

You might like my Darkness of Raven Wood (although its not the absolute best adventure on Electron for sure) :D

Re: Doom?

Thanks Rich. The wireframe must be quicker to render and looks far cleaner than busy graphics. Looking at things like this on the Spectrum for instance its hard to tell whats going on. After all you want a proper FPS experience not a 2 frames per second confusion that you get on Spectrum. The maps a...

Re: Doom?

Wouldn't it be easier and may be even a bit nicer from an FPS viewpoint to do a hidden Wireframe poly environment and then spend the graphic budget on the Sprites? For me the speed of gameplay is more important than trying to replicate a textured environment. Just and idea.

Yes there are indeed only 4 colours, black, red, blue, yellow. The Maze of Terror

:D Hey fellow Acorns... This is just an idea I'm floating around. Won't been doing anything with it till next year. But thought I'd share my initial ideas. The Maze of Terror is hopefully the first in a little series of games based on BASIC type-in Programs. Taking the basic idea and code and expand...
