Re: Tuning an old BBC Master

Thanks to everyone for your precise answers, I’m as always pleased to see that this old seminal machine (the first real multi purpose home computer!) is alive and kicking!

Tuning an old BBC Master

Hello, for some times ago I'm the proud new owner of a Master 128, that's the one in the attached picture. I bought an SSD card reader and a RGB to VGA converter board, everything is working fine, so I'm really happy! By the way, very well built machine... in my youth, I owned a Italian clone of the...

Yes, I have PM enabled.
No, I don't still have any contact to buy a copy of Repton The Lost Realm

Thanks to everyone for your interest! :D

Re: Repton: The Lost Realms

If retrosoftware still sell copies of this game, well, I couldn't find...
My question is: anyone has a contact (an email, I mean) with someone who sell it?

Thanks!

Repton: The Lost Realms

Hello, how can I buy a copy of Repton: The Lost Realms? I wached on www.retrosoftware.co.uk but there it says that I must search on eBay, and finally I found nothing. I would need the ssd file also, because I don't own a physical BBC micro (by the way, anyone selling a Master? Even if broken?) Many ...

Re: 256 x 256 mode

Wow, what a rich feedback! many thanks to everyone, RobC read my mind indeed! That's true, I need a fixed area to show remaining lives and score... suppose I have to try to understand the vertical rupture technique, I read a pair of times the tutorial that Tricky published on retrosoftware, but I do...

256 x 256 mode

Hello, from the subjet itself my aim is clear... what a pity that I have no idea how to get it! One of the favourite game of my youth was Contra, also known as Gryzor, and my dream of the time was to clone it on my PC128S, the Olivetti clone of the master compact. My only tools was basic. As you can...

Re: b-em full screen aspect ratio

sure I'm not a smart-one with the compilers; after installing jack libraries and libasoud2 as dependencies, I'm now stopped here: Configured version: 2.2 Making all in src make[1]: Entering directory '/home/paolo/b-em-master/src' CXXLD b-em b_em-midi-linux.o: In function `midi_send_msg': /home/paolo...

Re: b-em full screen aspect ratio

I'm using the 2.2 version, taken from the b-em site
http://b-em.bbcmicro.com/
anyway, now I try the github one, that seems really recent...

b-em full screen aspect ratio

Hello everyone, since I'm a happy linux user, I play and make my experiments of programming with the b-em, that works pretty well. The only big drawback I have found is that, in full screen mode, it does not keep the right 4:3 aspect ratio, but try to "adapt" itself to the ratio of the video card (1...

Re: New Release: Retro Software's WHITE LIGHT by Sarah Walker

Incredible game!! Very balanced, very nice to see, every byte of the beeb is exploited!
I'll buy a copy on ebay, it's worth that money more than any other software1
:D :D :D
Can you satisfy my curiosity?
Is Sarah Walker a real person or is it a fictitious name that identifies a development group?

Re: BASIC Space Invaders

Very good as usual, Tricky! Another great jump backwards! This is the pure spirit of retrosoftware, the best coding skill to serve obstinate and contrary technology! Space invaders wasn't my favorite game, to tell the true, but the feeling is the same when I was 9 spending Sunday morning in the pari...

Re: New Release: Castle Defender

This game is a perfect mix of graphics, sound, and playability!!
If I was still 14, and living in 1987 (at the time I owned an Italian clone of a Master Compact), I would gone crazy with it!

Anyway, a very well done piece of software even nowadays!
Great, great, great!
