Boxed 6502 co-processor for sale

I happened across a relatively cheap boxed co-proc recently and bought it sell on. . Doing this kind of thing is pretty much the only way I can afford to buy stuff I want at the moment. But anyway. I thought I would put it up here first for somewhat less than I will put it up on a well known ...

Cambridge Computers Z88 PSU - p&p only

This arrived with a ZX81 and I don’t have a Z88 computer so is p&p only if anyone wants it. Otherwise it is bound for toaster heaven. There is some sticky tape residue on the sides that I will try and remove. 7E1EE383-90BD-4B44-9526-1821FA867FD6.jpeg It produced 4.4 volts on my multimeter. Not sure ...

Broken Cathay cassette player - p&p only if you fancy fixing it!

This arrived with a Spectrum a while back and is not working. It tries to play but doesn’t quite manage it. FF and RW both seem ok. I opened the case (and cleaned it. Yuck) and checked the belt which seems ok and that is my limit of repairs with these! Just p&p if anyone wants it otherwise it is the...

Re: Today I received.....

A boxed (serial numbers matching the unit and box), working, virtually perfect (the colour of the outside of the case is more or less the same as the inside) and I think fairly complete 6502 co-proc. :D Its a shame the cables have eaten into the polys as they are otherwise bright white and lovely. 2...

I had a tentative go at prying this apart but gave up when it was obvious it was going to fall apart.

If anyone wants to reverse engineer one of these to produce a modern real time clock (assuming anyone wants such a thing - I would :D ) I am happy to send it on knowing it won’t survive.

To be honest, I'm a bit of a fish out of water here, because my interest is distinctly Z80. Yet despite this, I check on new posts every day without fail. That tells you something about the StartDot community.

Interestingly when I do *HELP it only shows one of the ROMs in a 2 ROM socket. Could this be that OS1.20 is not fully set up to work with 2 ROM sockets?
Both ROMs in a socket do work however.

Re: New econet setup

Yes - you should have StartFS amongst the files on the L3 download disc, which is in BASIC and can be edited to include inserting the date and time from the Master real time clock. Then you can build a !Boot file to CHAIN"STARTFS" and it all runs automatically. Thanks. Edit - just tried it. Works a...

Is it possible to start the L3 server from a single command using a config type file / setup as opposed to having to set the date / time / number of discs and stations? I’m not too fussed about it - the whole thing cost less than a tenner. It is in very nice condition and boxed, although at some point some eejut has written ‘genie clock...

It said similar in Mark’s instructions. :D
In fact, in amongst a million other files the USB stick that came with the gotek has a number of blank files for DFS and ADFS etc.

MkII GENIE CLOCK

I happened across this and was wondering if it is possible to change the battery? It says in the instructions it is good for 10 years but I suspect we may be a bit beyond that... Is it safe to install and switch on without changing the battery? I’m assuming not. FAD0A6A5-07B2-4975-BC5F-55BE4A135F37....
