Have you checked to see if there's a ram expansion in the machine? If there is and it's bust then it might be causing your error.

Re: My final unanswered Exile question

On the subject of Exile - what would have to be done to make the game scroll smoothly? The jerky-scrolling has never annoyed me, but I was thinking that with new add-ons like the VideoNula, would it be possible to recode the game to smooth things out?

Re: My final unanswered Exile question

One last thought, and it's a long shot: do you have access to the Amiga version of the game (WinUAE plus an ADF image is probably the easiest way :) )? I know that the map isn't identical but from memory it's relatively close - you could see if this switch is present here and if so maybe see what it...

Re: My final unanswered Exile question

Good work on completing Exile by the way! =D> My brother, Dad and I played it loads when it was first released but we never got much beyond the mysterious door to the west. There was much fun to be had though messing about with the robots and imps and fluffy! I spent some time with the fantastic Ami...

Time for Zarch .... on the beeb?!

I was reading this thread about zarch on the speccy with interest: http://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5961&hilit=zarch+bbc and wondered if anyone had had a serious thought about porting Zarch to the beeb? Now there are so many 2nd processor beebs / masters around thanks to the RPi, plu...

Re: Master level shifter for PiTube Direct won't fit with VideoNuLA

It's getting a bit tight in my case already. We've got the VideoNuLA, PiTube Direct, Econet, MultiOS and Internal DC. Next project is to build a BeebSID to go along with my BeebOPL and see if I can fit both of them in the case. :D It's fun trying to fit as much stuff as you can into a beeb :) In my...

Re: Do your family and friends 'get it'?

My other half doesn't 'get it' but she doesn't complain either. It's all in an unobtrusive corner of the loft so it doesn't get in the way. She occasionally comments that the number of computers seems to be getting bigger which I try and deny. The dog 'gets it' in so much he loves being up in the lo...

Re: New A3020 owner!

I think the DOM route is the way forward too. You can get an A3020 to work with a cheap IDE-SD adapter but in my experience the adapter has to be one of the rare two chip versions, not the one chip. Some IDE-CF adapters do work but not all CF cards work, so you can spend a lot of time trying differe...

Re: TurboMMC removing a software diskimage

I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but I remove the MMC, put it into my PC, load the BeebMMC software (or whatever it's called, it's on the TurboMMC CD), mount the BEEB.MMB image and then use the software to delete the .ssd. It would be worth making a backup of BEEB.MMB first before you start e...
