Re: Thinking of trying out Pi coprocessor on my model B

I've not heard of one, I think that they usually use the internal connector if they don't want a ribbon cable dangling. Sorry, didn't answer your question. Yeah i though that might be the case. Ive got a Kortink Reco6502 internally in my Master and am adding a Pi to the external tube port. Just won...

Re: Thinking of trying out Pi coprocessor on my model B

Does any one know if there’s a PiZero header that is small enough to fit under a Master? The two I have at the moment are just a little too large

Re: !65Host & !65Tube

I’ve just had a play with the latest version of 6502Em on my A3020. It’s much much faster than BeebIt. Exile with sound off is not full speed but it’s pretty impressive. I’ll see about making a quick video to demonstrate it. I’m pretty impressed :) With an Arm3 I should imagine it would run full speed

Re: !65Host & !65Tube

Bump to an old thread!

I’ve paid for 6502Em from the murklesoft website as I’m still keen to try and get Exile running at an acceptable speed on my A3020. I’ve tried BeetIt again and it’s just too slow (like seconds per frame!)

Re: Doom?

16fps would be plenty.

The BadMood Atari Falcon port runs at about 8fps using the 16mhz 030, the fpu and the dsp... and that’s more than playable. A 25mhz 040 in an Amiga turns in about 10fps and it takes a 50mhz+ 060 to get more than 20fps.

Here is the updated owl boot ROM with a few variations for co-pro startup sounds:

OwlBoot-beep.rom gives the standard VDU7 beep.
OwlBoot-ba-beep.rom gives something like Kazzie's idea.
OwlBoot-dit-dit-dit.rom gives three short beeps.

OwlBoot-roms.zip
Ba-beeb sounds brilliant, I love it!

No screws in place in my Master, beeb or Atom, nor my big box Amigas for that matter :)

Re: Doom?

There’s an Arm version of Doom available that maybe the adventurous could try to port to the Pi Arm core? Would that be easier? It says it needs an Arm3 or better but there’s a video of it running on an Arm250.

Re: AtomColour sync problems, tearing my hair out with this :(

I can confirm that my atom with iss 5.1 board also displays the video image jumping issue with certain games. The ones i've tried so far which display the problem are Flappy Birds (sometimes on the menu but definitely in-game, although i dont get the rolling that jms2 describes), Manic Miner, Jet Se...

Re: Nice Quality RGB to SVGA Adaptor for Beeb...

I use one of these with my beeb and with my Arc 420/1 (using a simple switchbox). I agree that it’s good value for money compared to the alternatives but it’s not particularly good quality in terms of the image you get out of it. Image quality (sparklies) can be improved by modification (detailed in...

Re: Viewdata Service

Hmm. Anyone with a freefi232 or a wifimodem able to check to see if it works ok? Maybe it’s an issue with my freefi232? The same problem occurs on both my master and bbc b so I don’t think it’s an issue with my beeb.

Hi John, Has anything changed on your glasstty.com:6502 viewdata service recently that might cause the following problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jzcipg5g98z538v/IMG_0728.MOV?dl=0 It’s almost as if the beeb is stuck in a continual refresh loop. I recall my dad (rip :() being genuinely Elite at this game. I use the rear laser when visiting Feudal or Anarchy’s. When your front shield is shot to bits it’s handy to be able to turn tail and pick the buggers off.

Re: A bit of fun: Which version of BBC Micro is the best?

As a kid in the 80s we had a BBC B at home (with disk drive), so my first love will always be a B. But I avidly read The Micro User and Acorn User and lusted after a Master thanks to the screen shots those mags published of Master-enhanced games. Elite, Exile, Striker’s Run and Lancelot all looked a...

Re: Starting a port of Stunt Car Racer...

It’s coming along brilliantly!

I’d love a version for the B. I’ve got one of the IFEl ram/Rom boards which I think gives 4 banks of swr. My beeb’s also got shadow ram in case you do decide to utilise that too :)
