Re: Cheap web-modem for the beeb/master (and arc if ya like!)

It certainly is! It’s very cool indeed :)

So is it possible to connect to bbs’s as well, such as those that are hosted for c64s, Amstrads and Amigas?

Re: Today I received.....

The OSSC Line Doubler I've only tried it for a minute using an Amiga, but it looks brilliant. So far. ossc.jpg These really are fantastic, I’ve had one for about a year. With scart switches I’m running the following into it: SNES, megadrive, PS1, PS2, Saturn, Jaguar, NeoGeo AES. They all look absol...

Re: Where do you get your retrocomputing fix?

I routinely use these forums: EAB Amibay Atari-Forum AtariAge Stardot I also have accounts at places like vcfed and vogons, lemon64, cpcwiki, the ossc forum, a Sega Saturn one. I sometimes look at Neo-geo.com and wonder how anyone puts up with the nonsense there. I routinely follow the big amiga gro...

I’ll second Daniel - I’m using a gbs8200 with a videonula and it works well if you can forgive the 60hz output.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3470973030

Buy it now: £80 plus a tenner postage.

It’s got no cpu, it’s knackered with battery acid damage and the keyboard’s shot.

Seems like good value!

My second mistake. I did mean all along holding delete whilst booting!

Sorry about that, posting from ‘memory’ whilst not at the machine :o :(

A3020 stopped booting from IDE

Hi all, My A3020 has stopped booting from my IDE SD card. Not sure why. It’s a uniboot setup which until now has booted fine on the ide drive without issue. The sd card verifies ok. The machine boots into Riscos and I can access the drive ok from there. I’ve dropped into the prompt, changed to drive...

Re: Windows 10....

I’ve been pretty unimpressed with W10 for a while now but since an update in June I’ve been suffering the nvlddmkm.sys BSOD. It’s an old pc with an old nvidia GeForce. It was just about coping with the stuff I use the pc for (downloading stuff for old computers, Photoshop work) but now it’s so unsta...

Having 50hz is brilliant. Coming from my gbs8200 which only outputs 60hz, the smooth 50hz scrolling on my dell 2001fp is fantastic :)

Re: RGB to HDMI using a Pi Zero and a small CPLD

Master with RGBtoHDMI on the left, Beeb B using a GBS8200 on the right. The picture does not do the RGBtoHDMI justice as it looks perfect. Excellent news. Can you post a photo of the Calibration Detail page after doing a Calibration in Mode 7? - press left button once - then press right button once...

Re: RGB to HDMI using a Pi Zero and a small CPLD

I’ll do some more testing tomorrow morning as out on the beers now! :) One thing I did notice is that I autocalibrated the boot screen, left the machine for about ten minutes and then when I came back I noticed there were a few twinkles around the edges of the letters meaning I had to redo the calib...

Re: Prince of Persia

I just had a look at the CPC6128 version side by side with the Master. Initially the CPC looks impressive due to the colours and the way the character’s been drawn. But then you can see that the graphics are actually quite simplified and don’t match the original. The Beeb’s colours aren’t quite a ma...

Re: BBC, electron, atom, arch(?) on retropie?

I have both beebem and b-em working on my Pi, one of which (can’t remember which but I think it’s beebem) runs through emulationstation and the other through the desktop. Both work fine however the one that goes through emulationstation hangs if you try to open a disk requestor, so you can’t save yo...
