you can get round the hyperspace bug by advancing time with the stardrive until you're through the hyperspace tunnel.

Re: Frontier Elite II - BBC and Pi Native ARM CoPro

Tremendous! Will test this evening. I have a couple of SmallyMouse2 boards squirrelled away somewhere too, so I’ll give mouse control a try as well

Re: Frontier Elite II - BBC and Pi Native ARM CoPro

is there any way to bring up the options? it's normally using the Escape key - sometimes this flashes up briefly but it never seems to 'stick'. i can't work out how to invoke it from the icons at the bottom.

Re: Frontier Elite II - BBC and Pi Native ARM CoPro

tested the latest version, works well! shame i cant remember how to play it correctly!

Interested in mouse support - i might have to hook up a smally mouse and give that a whirl once it's implemented.

What are your thoughts on sound?

Re: Emulators on A3010-20

You need to double the speed of your A3010/20 to get about 75% speed of a Beeb. This is using 6502Em

https://youtu.be/xEx1dfMOb5s

Exile does come close to normal beeb speed if you use the non-sideways ram screenmode

Re: TOP 5 interest of the RASP PI CO PRO ?

I’m still hoping someone (not me, not clever enough!) will have a go at converting Zarch to the beeb using the Pi’s ARM - that would leap straight into my top 5 coprocessor uses :)

I managed to watch most of the day, it was the first virtual meet I’ve been able to attend. Great presentations and chat from everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Re: Frontier Elite II - BBC and Pi Native ARM CoPro

I found in the comms menu if you press one you get clearance to depart even if the cursor doesn’t respond I managed to hyperspace to barnard’s star but could work out how to select the station orbiting Birmingham world to set the autopilot. Then I pressed too many keys and it seemed to lock up! Rema...

Re: Acornsoft Elite

I agree with that, Daniel. I spent a lot of time trying to get into Frontier, but it was ultimately little fun compared to the original. As a simulation of the galaxy and a feat of coding, i’m sure it was remarkable, but that wasn’t what I was after as a teenager in the 1990s. It also didn’t help th...
