Re: Atom 2k18 ?

Today I received this board. It's slighty larger than the EEPizza and unfortunately lacks the serial port (converter).

Yes I made an adapter from the Godil50 to a 40P DIP.

Indeed Kees, doubting whether I restore it or not as the picture will never be as good as Hoglet's HDMI interface.

A "New" Atom

Today I acquired a "reasonably priced Atom" from "Marktplaats" (Dutch e-bay). The nice thing was is that the seller and I had an agreement , an appointment , after that i have been over-bidden twice but the seller was a "deal-is-a-deal" person, kudo's as that starts to become more and more and excep...

Re: ICE T65/Z80/6809

I made some HiRes pictures. 2 Questions I have : @Dave do you have an idea (or educated guess) how many layers the EEPizza board has ? My guess is at least 4,with (maybe?) a power and ground plane. Looking at my board pictures it looks that the voltage regulators are already larger than SOT-223 P517...

Re: ICE T65/Z80/6809

Hi Dave, if you do I would be willing to split some costs.
Today I received this board.
Not seeing it as a real replacement for the EEPizza as the form factor is quite large.
Pricing is quite cheap though , around $14.

Re: ICE T65/Z80/6809

@Dave, Can i use more than one entry in the UCF file to use the current ID bits AND the 2x6 connector or is it OR-OR ? Assume its editing these lines to reflect the connections on the 2x6 connector : # ID/Jumper NET "mode" LOC="P140" | IOSTANDARD = LVCMOS33 | PULLUP ; # mode jumper NET "id<0>" LOC="...

Re: ICE T65/Z80/6809

When determing the core to load, the mode link on the adapter is also used. You could extend this idea and treat pins on the extra 2x6 connector on the eepizza board as additional mode "links". Then you wouldn't need to change any of the existing adapters.
Excellent idea, thanks.

Re: ICE T65/Z80/6809

Hi Dave, As I am making more progress with my "Hacked version" of the 6502 core I was thinking about customizing the bootloader. I have made a small circuit that can generate a 4-bit code to the ID bits of the board. Actually im looking of a "reload" (is that the reset of the EEPizza board)? Then (i...

Thanks for this,

I assume you used the TSR 1-2450, as listed on that datasheet? They seem to give the right operating voltage.

Re: My 'new' Acorn Atom

that you're still able to use the original 8v power supply?
Indeed and mostly because I find bypassing the original 7805's scary, as each time you have to realize that plugging in the original 8V supply will destroy most of the Atom.

Re: My 'new' Acorn Atom

I have replaced the 7805's with small switchers.
They stay cool (enough) to supply the whole system due to less dissipation.

Re: Two dead Atoms! Life Support possible?

Imho starts with default troubleshooting.

Strip it to the minimum config.
Are all voltages ok ?.
Is the reset circuit ok (level) ?.
Is there a clock in/out the CPU and video processor ?.

If that is all ok I (but I do owe one, so easy to suggest) throw in Dave (Hoglet's) ICE-T65
