Re: Acorn Art Thread

Well I don't like to disappoint the fans.
So for better or worse here is the colour cycled 'cut down' version with compromises. It can be seen on a beeb and it has got Jaws in it Dave!

Re: Acorn Art Thread

You can't convert that Lurkio!
I had to use jiggery pokery. A bit of a cheat for now but it spices it up a bit. The colour cycling is BBC micro.
Really what I need is to be able to use mode 2 sprites....

Re: Epson HX20 - first laptop !EVER! 1981+

My first laptop was an HX20. My Dad brought it home from the Polytechnic. I was in awe of it. To think it had a mini cassette player and a printer built in. It was like James Bond to me. I can remember typing out a few basic programs on it and getting some nice graphs printed on the thermal paper. T...

Ample wow

I've just been reading the Ample Nucleus Programmers Guide ( what a bedtime read!)
It's nuts how detailed it all is and how advanced Ample is. I could spend a lifetime just on that instead of painting..........it's very flexible as a language....I am interested in the random possibilities of it.

Re: Acorn Art Thread

I wonder whether to post art up that could be controversial and with dark humour.
Satire and sarcasm is not always palatable...but then art has always challenged the world around us good or bad....for better or worse.

Re: Acorn Art Thread

Yes Lurkio I got caught out there! That is the first time I have done that which was a bit naughty. Call it artistic license. The glow effect looked so good I thought I'll put it in. Some of the animations use a few extra tricks ( the runner did ) so I bent the rules a bit there. Let's consider it a...

Re: New Acorn 8bit? Should there be one?

It would be a crying shame if the BBC didn't get a re-invent. C64 has had it as has speccy. The trouble is as we have seen with Spectrum Next it is not so easy to pull off. I think it should be kept simple. Design one case like the BBC Micro. Chuck it all in there. Put a pi in it that boots straight...

Re: Acorn Art Thread

Well done Lurkio and CRB. I did see a problem in this. If you turn these gifs into BBC pics how you gonna know what is colour flashing and what isn't? You could save the frames of course and play 8 back in sequence but it's not the same as saving a picture with the flashing colours and animating it....
