I have just seen this reviewed on the LGR YouTube channel , it sounds too cool to be true. Is it? Does someone more hardware aware than me think this might work with the Beeb?

Language learning/ flash card software
Hello, In an attempt to find everyday uses for my Beeb I was hoping to fit her in around my other hobbies. She would like to do more than just organise my address book. Does anyone know of a good vocabulary learning/ flash card type programme which would allow entry of a word onto a 'card', which co...

I just got mine set up over Christmas and it displays pretty well on my monitor through the DVI via an hdmi to dvi adapter, I don't know if that helps.

Re: xMas tunes from old 10" 78rpm vinyl!
How exciting! I have rather a lot of these 78s (the shellac variety) and an HMV 156 gramophone to play them on. It's a lot of fun and always amazes me how much sound you can get from a record using only the energy from a coiled spring. Not a very restful listening experience though, 3 minutes a side...

I have a dozen of these which have not, alas, fixed my top right corner! May hold on to one or two in case I want to try fiddling again but the rest are free to a good home. Happy to split if someone only wanted a couple.

Re: Fixing an AKF-17 Monitor
My guy is in east Cornwall, so probably not a great help. I could put you in touch with him if you like, he does accept work sent to him by courier or post. It might be worth seeing if anyone near you is available though. Firstly to save it another risky journey, secondly because he would need some ...

Have you powered it up yet to see what the display symptoms are? I have just revamped my cub with some help from the forum and a TV repair man, so it can be done! Pictures and descriptions are the thing though. Mine had funny rotation of the image after a long life and needed a yoke adjustment, appa...

Of course. Pictures are no problem. 2 attached, one showing it's location by the tripler and lopt (!), and a close up. I did wonder if it might be twiddle protected. I am trying to avoid a catastrophe related to my perfectionism. Unless one of you good people is pretty certain that it is OK to adjus...

Hello all, I have just serviced my lovely cub 452 (yoke adjusted, purity, convergence etc.) with a little help from a kindly TV repair man. The only thing that was not adjusted is the field shift. Before I dip tentatively in with my insulated screwdriver and my pulse racing, does anyone know why VR3...

That has helped enormously, thank you. I have worked out how to change the permissions (thanks, Google) and am now into the folder. No idea why that became an issue all of a sudden but it is now resolved.

Re: Required: Dummies Guide for GoSDCio -> Mac
Well, I am still having intermittent problems with the SD card corrupting, even now it is in a Beeb, so I have my suspicions about what the SD card reader on my mac is doing, but I am having another problem that I was wondering if someone might be able to help with. I can back up the SD card with: s...

Electron User Magazine Binders
Needing to make some space and these guys take up a fair bit. I would prefer to sell all together if possible. The binders are a little curvy unfortunately, but the magazines are in good condition. They cover the period October '84 to March '87. The following are missing: May-Aug '85 May '86 Feb '87...

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get to the service menu on a Sony KV-M1400U portable? It is currently my 'monitor' for the Beeb, but the picture being an inch too high with the top line missing has finally got to me! Does anyone know how to call up the service menu on this model so I can ...

I have copied Colossal Adventure to my GoSDC and begun to play. I have noticed that typing 'SAVE' will create a new file on the disc called 'COLDAT", so it seems that my state may be being saved, but I am at a loss to know how to then reload. I have tried 'LOAD' to no avail and don't know what ...

Re: Required: Dummies Guide for GoSDCio -> Mac
Alas that did not work. In the end I formatted and started again which has worked. Now running as smoothly as you could want. Must have got corrupted somehow. I wonder if you don't have to be much more careful taking the card in and out of the machine than I would have thought. I can't think how els...
