Re: Deltronics Control-IT software

We've got what seems to be new and complete 'Control IT' (Redbridge) unit here if there is anything still needed? I can across this posting whilst looking for info on some cables I've just found they are labelled Data Harvest Education TPH170 Acorn serial Lead and are 9pin D Type male to female with...

Digital Services 10b2 EtherD Firmware update?

Anyone know if there was an update to the firmware on a Digital Services Ltd 10b2 EtherD network podule? They have: Modules: EtherD 1.02 InternetA 1.05 Netmsgs 0.01 Net 1.04 BootNet 0.81 NetGain 2.06 We made a note years ago: Believed to be DCI-2 not DCI-4 Any pointers very gratefully received. Chri...

10mm? You sure about that? The earliest Archimedes mice only use a 4mm diameter cable:

Re: A7000 single slot backplane. New batch.

One of the projects is replacement 9 pin miniDIN mice cables. We've found someone who will make them for us including the JST connectors as used by the later Logitech mice and I've found a thinner cable than the RS 9pin miniDIN to bare end, so will fit into the mouse case but it is no more flexible ...

A7000 single slot backplane. New batch.

We (CJE Micro's & 4/D) are just finalising the PCB for copy of Acorn's A7000 single slot backplane and before we commit to a batch we'd like to know how many (if any) people would be interested in one? Also to check if anyone else has already done this or is about to announce it. If anyone wants...

I also refurbished his mouse with a new cable :D mouse-newcable.jpg Paul I'm intrigued by the photo, did you also manage to source a strain relief for the mouse end? or do you remember how you did it? They don't seem to be removable on the original cable on that type (Digitech?) mice I have here. I...

C=capacitor W=? & Acorn Logitech Mice Wiring

In an Acorn Logitech later style (Curved top) mouse with a 10 way JST connector there are a number 0805 type components marked W1, W2... I'm guessing inductor and google doesn't find me confirmation. Is my guess correct? Also all 10 lines seem to connect through to the 9pin miniDIN I presume the ext...

Re: Electron Plus 3, some questions.

Doubt there's anything wrong with the +3, just not enough power. We've tried a new 20V 3.25A DC PSU on it. It will power the electron o.k. Powering the plus 3 without the electron the disc drive powered up and spins, light comes on etc. Connecting the electron and trying again and the light on the ...

Thanks for all the very quick info lads. I must apologise to Chris Whitehead on re-reading it he doesn't say on chrisacorns.computinghistory.org.uk two PSUs are used. He says: "The left view of the Plus 3 shows the socket for the 21 V AC power supply. When a Plus 3 is fitted the Electron runs o...

I'm trying to help someone power their Electron with Plus 1 and Plus 3, I'm confused by: It is, I think, still providing power to the elk/peripherals AFAIK. The plus 3 psu is only powering the drive. That's if I remember correctly... Which I might not. You're correct, Daniel. With the Acorn Plus 3 a...

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. Writing ssd disk images on a BBC Master

Is there any software that will run on a BBC Master to write 100K SSD etc. disk images?

I've tried searching the Forum and used Google but not found anything.

I can easy download disk images on to a 3.5" ADFS disk and have a 3.5"/5.25" dual drive on a Master!

Re: Cut a RiscPC case to fit a CD-ROM drive?

The giveaway to spot a second slice is that it won't have the "Risc PC" screen printing on the flap. At least in theory, you shouldn't need a hot knife to cut through the plastic. It looks like the 5.25in covers push into the case and break away. Although I'm not keen to maul my pristine ...

Thanks!
