Re: SCART plugs now rare! Sourcing recomendations please

I need just the plugs, so we can make BBC to SCART leads etc.
I have looked into buying ready made up 3m+ SCART to SCART leads to cut them in half and put a 6 PIN DIN plug on the cut end, but the cables are two large a diameter for the DIN shroud.

SCART plugs now rare! Sourcing recomendations please

Farnell no longer stock any SCART plugs, CPC do but they are over £1 even in quantity, so any suggestions of other sources welcome please. If I buy 500 I can get them under £1 from: https://www.rapidonline.com/BKL-903011-Scart-Connector-50-9941?IncVat=1&utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=retargeting&utm_c...

Recommendations for connector source please. For our version of IanS's interface we will be optionally fitting a 44way female (horizontal entry) to let IDE to CF and IDE to SD interfaces be plugged in directly. We can get: https://uk.farnell.com/samtec/mms-122-01-l-dh/socket-2-0mm-horiz-2x22way/dp/...

Re: IDE interfaces - hardware details

i used simple "male pin strip" bought for pennies in the bay, cutted and soldered in 2 rows... if you have to cut.. what's about doing same thing with female ones? Female vertical are quite a bit more than "male pin strip" but it is the need for the connector to be horizontal that's putting the pri...

Thanks for the replies. I've found the TL866 with a set of adaptors available from the UK for only £2 more than the Chinese listing Gerald found. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TL866II-Plus-USB-Universal-Programmer-EFPROM-FLASH-8051-AVR-MCU-GAL-PIC-Kit/362327119196?epid=8019725463&hash=item545c61155c:g:...

Thanks for the suggestion and info. I've had more information from the previous owner that they are not sure if they ever actually used it! So I think 25MHz use is appropriate.

Using an FPA10 @ 33MHz

I've an FPA10 that has come out of a 33MHz A5000. AIUI the FPA10 is rated for 26MHz use and the FPA 11 at 33MHz. I presume the A5000 will have been running it at 33MHz. Any suggestions for software to test the FPA10?
IIRC !Sick will confirm its presence.

David, what IDE devices do you have?
We've seen your sort of problem when the IDE drive was Compact Flash or an IDE-SD adaptor.

Re: RiscPC lost network access

RISC OS defaults to a mask of 255.0.0.0
If the masks on other parts of the network (often 255.255.255.0) are different then Broadcasts of Shares will appear but data transfers won't work.

Paul
Flying leads are used by 3MB upgrades they probably have 24 chips. 4MB upgrades never had a flying lead.
No motherboard jumpers to change for any RAM expansion (1, 3 or 4MB) that I know of.

Great work.

Trying to keep things all inside the box for A3010/A3020's with duff keyboard controllers. I wonder if there is a way to connect a standard A3x00 keyboard up to the Archimedes type input.

I know of an as yet unpublished laptop keyboard (FFC connection) to USB interface...

5.25" Drive on RiscPC. Actilead wanted?

We are trying to help someone who is replacing an A5000 with a RiscPC. He has a 5.25" drive connected to his A5000 and needs to continue to be able to read and write ADFS 5.25" discs. IIRC an Actilead was the preferred solution, does anyone have an Actilead they no longer need? (I expect to pay) Or ...

I have no idea what changes, if any, that APDL made to the IDE system. However, I did not give or sell him any rights in the c...

I've just bought an atom with one fitted!
The daughter board is fully populated except for IC3. What can IC3 be used for?

Re: Can you still get BBC B, Atom etc kits to self build ?

The Atom was available as a kit. But I've never heard of anyone reproducing the PCB after Acorn stopped production.
The closest the BBC being available as a kit, was to buy a Model A and upgrade to Model B spec with a kit from people such as ourselves "CJE Microcomputers" (as we were know then!)
