Re: BBC EPROM Programmers

The versEPROM certainly looks like the UVIPROM So we'll try that.
Our ATPL AutoPrommer has no ROMS fitted but we should be able to use the versEPROM to program a pair for it.

Thanks!

BBC EPROM Programmers

In tidying the corners of our new Tardis I've come across two BBC EPROM Programmers with no markings. From the pics can anyone hazard a guess as to design and software to use them? I'm also on the lookout for the software for: Zonix (I have a disc but it is corrupt) Watford ATPL VersEPROM This one h...

USB podule for an A5000 To use USB Mouse & Keyboard?

A customer wants a USB podule for an A5000 so he can use a USB Mouse & Keyboard via a KVM. He's tried a Castle USB podule but that doesn't work. Anyone tried a Simtec USB Podule on RISC OS 3.1? I know Unipod has issues with 3.7 so doubt it would work and would be a very expensive option. Can anyone ...

I can confirm it is a CD Audio Mixer for Mk 1 or Mk 2 RiscPC motherboard. I suspect it is designated Yellowstone Mk2. It is much more common than the version on chris's Acorns.

I thought it was like an SA110 with a very limited on board IOC and VIDC but are there other architectural differences?

if you're even slightly technically minded (and if you've owned a desoldering station i'd assume so) I see a few options. a Open it up check for perished hoses/seals and replace (see you've done this) b strip clean/refurb the pump, (might just be clogged up, or need new seals/gaskets) c put in a ne...

My desolder station sucks!

The problem is it doesn't suck effectively in the literal sense. It is about 30 years old and we made very good use of it repairing BBC B etc. and fitting our A310 RAM boards but we didn't use it for 10+ years and now we have a need of one it is not working effectively, it sounds like it used to and...

Is the FPU built into a 5x86 then?

I sold hundreds of our 5x86 133MHz 512k cache RISC PC cards at about £500 each so I probably did know the answer!

On the RIscPC I did write the software to using the x86 card as the FPU. So if you have an 586-133MHz card that is probably the fastest FP Acorn machine.
What about the FP speed of an Aleph1 486Podule with CX83S87 fitted?

ADVERT MODE ON
If you are in the UK then we are cheaper after postage and will be quicker:

Though the pins will need straightening which hasn't caused us any issues when fitting.

We looked into an A310 PSU recently, it looks very like a BBC PSU inside, two of the normal 'smoking BBC caps' even had the same C number! and were/seemed (one was illegible) to be the same value.

I need just the plugs, so we can make BBC to SCART leads etc.
I have looked into buying ready made up 3m+ SCART to SCART leads to cut them in half and put a 6 PIN DIN plug on the cut end, but the cables are two large a diameter for the DIN shroud.

Using an FPA10 @ 33MHz

I've an FPA10 that has come out of a 33MHz A5000. AIUI the FPA10 is rated for 26MHz use and the FPA 11 at 33MHz. I presume the A5000 will have been running it at 33MHz. Any suggestions for software to test the FPA10?
IIRC !Sick will confirm its presence.
