Absolutely amazing work, I can barely believe it's possible!... Wish I could code games like this. =D>

I've just ordered Elementum.

Never use Hermes!

Recently purchased this bundle. I think the Optima title is a rare one for the Electron??

Unfortunately Hermes lost the parcel. Doh!

Only trust a decent courier with your packages!

Hi Stuart,

That would be fantastic. Of course I’m more than happy to cover all time and expenses involved.

Have you managed to fix your Elk?.. Are there any parts you need?

Electron Keyboard Cable

Hi,

Does anyone have a spare Electron keyboard ribbon cable with connector? If so please let me know.

Else, can those blue connectors be purchased anywhere?

Thanks,
Ian

Re: Electron Solidisk EFS

Hi Dave, thanks very much for this!... Ideal as I did acquire a BBC this year.

Actually this Winchester was one of yours and it's been incredibly reliable until recently - I think the head is jamming in the parked position. I guess I'll have to replace the drive at some point.

Re: Electron Solidisk EFS

Hi all, I'm trying to format my Winchester but not quite sure how - I'm using the Electron Solidisk Interface connected to the Solidisk host adaptor & WD1002-SHD Electron User states... On the Electron ADFS side, the 2.1 ROM also has some very nice features: Extensive Disc formatting facilities....

Hi Roland,

Looks fantastic! Please also put me down for one of these Electron WIFI Cartridges.

I agree there should be an online software archive for this device.

Thanks,

Re: Help with my first Beeb!

Hi guys, That’s fantastic, many thanks... it’s now up and running! \:D/ Replacing IC60 was considerably harder than IC56 but got there in the end. I couldn’t reuse IC56 as I destroyed it taking it out. Luckily I did originally order two sockets and Ram chips as I expected I made might need th...

Re: Help with my first Beeb!

I’ve double checked the S25 positions and yes that’s all correct. I’m pretty sure I’ve replaced IC56... photo is attached. Ok so it’s possible the trendy monochrome monitor was hiding some important information - the corrupt pixels are yellow unless overwriting an existing white pixel (in which case...

Re: Help with my first Beeb!

Finally got round to performing the operation! - Replaced IC56 with a new socket and Ram chip. Also put new caps in the PSU. Never done this sort of thing before but it went well and the system booted but up afterwards! :D But unfortunately the fault is still persistent :( Any ideas of what to check...

Re: Help with my first Beeb!

It’s incredible you can diagnose a faulty component just from those screen shots. =D> Thanks for your time on this Kazzie - Fantastic detective work! Re: Help with my first Beeb!

Hi guys, many thanks for your advice! So just to confirm regarding S25 all the previous images were taken with it in North position. When it's South it won't boot up (just flickering on the screen). It didn't occur to me that you can also remove it... When removed it boots up into 16k and will only ...

Help with my first Beeb!

Hi all, I recently acquired my first ever Beeb - Initially an impulse purchase purely for it's 'PC style' aesthetic beauty - there weren't many bids so I guess nobody else saw the beauty  Anyhow, I'm now quite excited about getting this up and running however it's not working correctly. I'm gue...

Re: Gotek on Electron

That simple... sounds great, not sure why I hadn’t done it sooner.

It is worth paying extra for the better led and dial options? Also is it possible to power it from the Electron or does it need a separate supply?

Thanks for the help !

Gotek on Electron

I'm guessing this is already explained somewhere but I can't seem to find it...

How simple is it to set up and install a Gotek on an Electron with an AP3? I can find how to examples for Amiga etc but not for an Acorn machine

Rom image burning...

Hi all,

I have a nice rom image for my Electron of which I would love to have a hardcopy. Would anybody here be able and willing to burn me a couple of copies? I'd be very happy to cover all costs plus a bit extra.

Kind regards,
Ian

Re: Anyone seen one of these before?

Such a small advert, I wonder how many they sold.

From the ad the RAM is actually 16k and the switch attached to the top write protects the contents.

This came with a Speech ROM fitted. Though this doesn't actually work on the Electron

Anyone seen one of these before?

An interesting upgrade for the Electron Plus 1. Similar to the AP6 but not an AP6. Provides ROM sockets and 32k sideways RAM.

It's the first one I've ever seen.

Hi all, I recently purchased a mode 7 unit for the Electron. Unfortunately and predictably it's not working correctly.
