Acorn AKF12 Monitor

Working condition.

A pickup from the Wakefield show would be an ideal opportunity.

Welcome.

Almost had the Vic-20 back then, but got the Electron instead. Funny how your first one can send you on a different path of machines. :)

Re: Hi There!

Hi Steve and welcome. Took me twenty years to finally get an Arc as well  I've just had a lot of fun refurbishing an A3020. Battery, memory, IDE SD card and now network.

The IDE SD adapter was really simple to sort out and quite inexpensive.

Re: A3000 software from disk images

I don't know if this is of any help, but it might be an alternative. I've just got some images onto an A3020 but not in a particularly cheap and simple way. I got the etherLan minipodule (£45) into the Arc. Then 'ftp'ed the files to my Risc-based RPi and then Acorn Access+ over to the Arc. And opene...

Re: A3020 networking - SOLVED.

Success! =D> Hasn't done the boot time much good though  The only slightly odd thing is that the Access+ icon on the icon bar on the Arc has disappeared and there's now a blank space where it used to be. Not really a problem because I can now access the Arc's drive from the RPi Access+ icon, so...

Re: A3020 networking - SOLVED.

I successfully formatted the SD card with these instructions from Steve3000 http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6786 Copied the !boot from Uniboot 2 onto the the card. Popped it back into the Arc and the drive is accessible with all the files on there. So far so good. I did *dr...

Re: A3020 networking - SOLVED.

So I guess I need to install uniboot then? Otherwise I can't see any of those configuration windows anywhere on the system. I'm going to try Uniboot 2 off RetroKit  I don't have a floppy writer so I'll have to install it from the SD card. I really hope this is the last time I have to open up t...

Re: A3020 networking - SOLVED.

Erm, not sure how to set the subnet or domain on the A3020. Do I need to set the station number? I can't see a way of setting that on the RPi either. It just says This Station - 0.0.

Re: A3020 networking - SOLVED.

Is it possible to share folders between an A3020 and a RPi? I can share a folder on both machines but they can't see each other.

Argh! it was another jumper issue

Changed JP6 and it's working now. Must remember to check jumpers first when dealing with old hardware... especially when posting to forums. :D

Well, it's connected to my Tlink Powerline adapter. The Raspberry Pi happily uses this hub so it must be okay.

A3020 networking - SOLVED.

So I finally got round to setting up my A3020 with it's brand new i3 etherLan card. I've enabled the network with *co. bootnet on. Now according to a manual I found the dual card should detect the signal from the RJ45 socket and use that for the connection. However, calling ehinfo, the last line say...

A3020 4Mb memory not showing up.

Hi, If I install the 4Mb upgrade on my A3020, should it automatically show up at boot and in the desktop? I'm hoping that I need to do something else because I've installed it but it still comes up as 2048.

Sounds excellent. The last time I took part in a similar BBC micro challenge was in 1986 at Junior school. I'm sure it was Arcadians then.

Looking forward to this one!
